Course Curriculum Overview

3

English honours is a very respective course. If you're good at reading then this is the best course for you. Students in English honours are not much as compared to other courses because for English honours you must score 75% in English in your 12th standard. You will get the DU DEGREE which is very good. The teaching method is you can go to class only on Sunday and you can study from pre-recorded lectures. Same like regular colleges of DU you have to give exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

7500/- for English honors for general studies for 1 year. If you are from BPL, SC/ST class your fees will be very low and you can also opt for free study. For scholarships, you can go to university and they will help you.

Campus Life

2.5

There is no such campus life as it is an open school of learning. If you want to go to the fests of DU, you can visit that with your id card. No such facility for sports and no social groups. You just get a degree from sol and no other social experience.

Admission

I gave the CUET exam in 2022 and it was the first time that CUET was conducted. I opt 3 domains and general tests. I want to pursue journalism and for that, I chose journalism as a domain but before the exam was conducted DU published a notice that a domain that you had not studied in your 12th standard will not be counted if you gave an exam for the that and because of that I got trapped in that. Still, I have the option to further as I chose English and general test, and with that, I was still eligible for journalism. After the result was declared I score 92% but I had only one college for journalism at DU that is DSJ but didn't get into the college as many other students outside of Delhi opt every course that they don't want and after 1 month everyone left the college and there were 20 seats left but admission got closed. Please guys choose domains wisely. After that, I chose SOL and want to pursue english honours and for that, I am eligible as my marks in 12th standard in english was 90%. Now I am pursuing English hons.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements starts from the fifth semester, that is from the last year of the course. Different companies like Delloite, IBM, etc visits for placement opportunities and as far as I knew, the lowest CTC in the year 2022 was around 6lakhs per annum. I did my post-graduation later on so I never went through the placement process.
