Course Curriculum Overview
The Department of Civil Engineering at Bangalore Institute of Technology is one of the most respected civil engineering departments in the city. With nearly 70% of the faculty having over 20 years of experience, it creates the perfect blend of the experienced staff with the young and dynamic staff. This blend created excellent teaching methods, thereby greatly benefiting students in their academics. Apart from the end-semester exams, students were constantly kept in check by assignments and internals, which would be conducted once every two months.
Placement Experience
The placements office offers multiple job oportunities to students. The college has over 100 companies visiting for recruitment annually. It is important that the students start visiting the office and registering themselves during their 3rd year, to get regular placement-related updates. The average annual package is around 3 LPA TO 5 LPA. The highest package every year is around 9 to 12 LPA. The computer science department student has the highest placement percentage with over 75% being placed every year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The average fee for the General category of students was around 50,000. Those students with different categories had reduced fee structures depending on the rules set up by the government. Scholarships were handed over to students based on their applications.
Campus Life
The annual tech festival Manthan, is one of the best feats in town. With colleges from all over the city coming to private and renowned chief guests this 3-day festival is an excellent break for students from their academics. The college library is comprised of journals, research papers and excellent books from a wide variety of fields. The college encourages its student to participate in extra curricular activities like Book reading competitions, intra-college and inter-college competitions are held regularly to engage students.
Admission
The eligibility criteria for admission was that the candidate must have passed his/her 12th board exams from State Board/CBSE/CICSE Boards. The candidate must have also appeared for KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test). The application form can be availed in the college admission sections. Furthermore, in this day and age, the college must provide options for online applications.
