I had a great experience. The environment is very friendly. The teacher-student relationship is excellent. Our seniors are very helpful. I love my college very much.. It has given me lots of things in my life. This discussion also helps us to learn and understand the topic in a better way. The seniors were always beside us whenever we needed any sorts of help. They also help us to get familiar with the college environment. We have lots of college events every month.. At least 2-3events. Our college is invited to most of the top colleges of Kolkata during competitions .. Asutosh college also provides a big platform to their students to show up their hidden talents.

There is no such extrance exam you need to give for admission.. Your admission is completely based on the marks that you get in your board's exam in class 12. As you know that Asutosh College is a grade 'A' college and is among the top 4 science colleges in kolkata, so you will have to get a good marks in your exam to get admitted into this prestigious college. There is no interview process for admission. From my childhood, I loved to work with computers.. I wanted to make gadgets, robots and make such devices which are capable of transforming the whole world.. So I decided to make computer science as my career and made it a way to fulfill my dreams..

As we know that 21st century is an age of computers where lots of reseach is going on in the field of artificial intelligence and other fields ,so a career in computer science is obviously a rewarding one. Lots of jobs oppertunities are there in the field of computers.. IT professionals are the ones with highest salary packages. If you do not get a job, you can also start your own business with the knowledge of computers.. So a career in computer science is a good one. The cource BSc computer science is mostly focussed on the theory part. Practical parts are also there . But its weightage is less as compared to the theory parts. Degree has nothing to do with ur knowledge. If u want to make a good position in the IT industry then you will have to learn much more. Sticking to the university syllabus will not help you... You will have to attain workshops organized by differnt instituitions, learn from online courses and will have to know about the latest technologies... The elective subject you can take is maths along with statistics/physics. Compulsory subjects are: English, environmental science, alternative english/bengali/hindi.

No. I dont think so that our college provide any sorts of interships.. There can be. I dont know much about it.

We have a placement cell in our college. The major companies visiting our campus is TCS and Wipro. There are other companies as well. The average package is ₹8000-₹15000 per month. Most of them don't sit for placements. As they want to higher their qualifications so that they can get a good job with good package. So most of them go for MSc or MCA. Still some students sits for placement. More than 10-15 of them are selected.

There are lots of events organized in our college.. They are mostly organized in Asutosh Memorial Hall (inside Asutosh college campus), Nazrul Manch, etc. Many popular celebrities, ministers come in our college. There events are very big. Every student of asutosh college knows, how much they enjoy during the fests. At an average we have 2-3 events per months. We have inter college fest. We have 2 freshers party. One is departmental and the other is college freshers. We enjoy a lot during all the events in our college.

The fees structure is affordable.. The fees for BSc Computer Science(hons) is around ₹28000. The fees is comparatively lower than other colleges.

Most of them dont opt for loan.. Still if they want to take a loan , then they can take it. Our college provides fees concession. There are lots of organizations providing scholarships to the deserving students. Many students in our college were granted concession in thier fees.

Starting from the first day in my college, I had great experience with my seniors, my batchmates and my teachers... The college enviromnent is very much friendly. Our college is excellent in terms of extra curricular activities. We have dance, music, recitation, football clubs in our college. Our college is having a football ground in Maidan. Our college provides us with ample opportunities to explore our talent. It provides us with big platforms where we can show our talents. Even our professors were not just a teacher. They were our guides. At the beginning and at the end of every class, a specific amount of time is alloted where students can clear their doubts and ask questions regarding their queries.

We are having a hostel separately for girls and boys at our 2nd campus at Joka. Most of our college students stays in pg... We have lots of PGs near our college. The minimum rate is ₹5000. Pgs also provide food along with lodging. They provide breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are rooms with single, double and triple accommodation. The food is good.

My interaction with my college allumnies was very good.. Our college provides a proper platform for student-alumni interaction. Our college allumni contributes for the overall development of the college. Many of our college allumnis are greatly successful. Many of them have become ministers like saugata roy, partha chatterjee, etc.. Rupam Islam is also a student of our college.

Between two exams, there is always a gap. If you study only before the exams then it will make you tired. Otherwise its a chill culture. Atleast 2-3days of gap is always there.

The faculty members are very good. We have 8 faculty members. 5 having MTech degrees, 1 ME, 2having MCA degree.. 3 of them have MCA+Mtech degree. So by going through this you can understand the level of faculty members in our college.. They are our guides rather than teachers... They only show us the right way. The standards of teaching is very high. Our lab teachers teaches us individually.. And there is no problem if we go on asking the same question repeatedly.. They will make you understand. Students are given time for interaction. They can clear their queries during that time and can ask questions if they have any.
