Course Curriculum Overview

I want to do Ph.D. in Chemistry so that's why I choose this course. All the faculties have completed their PhD. due to Covid, it was really bad as there was not much gap between the exams it was very hectic.

Internships Opportunities

I never did an internship over here as they prefer doing the internship in other colleges or universities or companies. Though it will be good as there are experienced teachers with great knowledge. So overall it will be good.

Placement Experience

MSC students become eligible for campus placements only in the 4th semester. The highest package is 700000 most of the placements are from educational tuitions eg unacademy, byjus, etc. My plans are pursuing PhD in chemistry

Fees and Financial Aid

The semester fee is 25000 but the hostel and mess fee is really expensive as it is 50000 for just four months. There are not many scholarships available. They might give you financial assistance if needed.

Campus Life

There are many fests. but as MSC students we are not given many opportunities to attend such fest in VNIT there is a fest only for PG students such as VIHANG but more preference is given to MTECH students

Hostel Facilities

It is average but not worth 50000. washrooms are not good. The mess food is not up to the mark. some days the food is really bad. Breakfast is eatable. The registration process for a hostel is very easy just bring all the documents.

Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year

Admission

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. For general and OBC category candidates minimum of 55% aggregate marks. It is an online based application process. The application process involves registration, filling in personal and academic details, uploading scanned documents and paying the application fees.

Placement Experience:

Placements in Fergusson are pretty good. Students are eligible for sitting in the placement drives from the 3rd semester, we also get Pre-placment activities and tests before the drive starts. We get companies like Axtria, Vois , bluepineapple etc on campus. The highest package is 10 - 12 lakhs and 4-6 lakhs on an average. In my batch out of the 30 people we 20 are placed so far on campus.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the GIPE are decent. This year the highest package offered was 18 lakhs per annum by Deloitte and IDFC FIRST Bank. Although the placements are not 100% but it's around 60%. Students need to work hard and score well in aptitude test and they should start the preparation from the second semester onwards so that they can easily manage their end semester exams as well as the aptitude test. The average placement package is around 8-9 lakhs. My plan is to get a corporate job and gain some experience and exposure in the corporate world and learn how the things actually work. Many companies that come to the college are looking for data analytics role. The ratio of the companies looking for consultant, risk analyst is less based on market demand and other circumstances.

By the end of sem3 itself, the postgraduates are deployed into interviews for certain internships. But if you are with good academic scores and knowledge you can even get directly placed. Every individual is given 3 chances by the college to get and crack the interview but if the student is not able to then he is guided to where to apply but mostly ICRI makes sure everyone is placed as the college proudly stays with its 100% placement tag line. As I told here there are varied background people here with different needs of roles, the highest package I have seen getting is 15L pa to the lowest of 3L pa which even depends upon the company to your broad spectrum of knowledge. To specify which companies come here for recruitment are sun pharma, Cipla, and many more there are all 20+ companies that come and hire the intellectuals. To specify about me I am planning to get a CRC post as a start for CRA in the future.

PG not given any campus you will get a job on your ability. We have to prepare for set net after MSc but there are some companies visited college like Wipro. They provide job but the salary is around 25000 per month.

I had Applied to Vit pune and I am getting Ai and DS there but my dream was to get an NIT so I dropped my decision and can to VNIT. I did not get any rejection from there I just rejected that college over NIT.
