An IIM to be in

In my point of view course curriculum is inclined to the industry needs.IIM Sirmaur has 35+ in-house faculty and 600+ students. The faculty-to-student ratio is similar to all the new generation iims. In the coming year, after the setup of its own institute campus, IIM Sirmaur will match the faculty-student ratio with the top IIMs.The faculty is highly qualified with PhD from IITs, IIMs, and other renowned universities worldwide. The teaching pedagogy is case-based, where theoretical learning is developed with practical case situations.IIM Sirmaur also houses some visiting faculty for particular courses, which provide us with wider learning.IIM Sirmaur has six terms in 2 years with every term consisting of a mid-term and an end-term with assignments, quizzes, and presentations. Every portion has its own weight and due to relative grading, it's quite challenging to score in an exam.

There were several great opportunities Like DCM Shriram, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Daimler truck, Accenture,GE, Big Basket, Adani, Michel page, RBI, Outlook group etc. The highest stipend was INR 1,70,000 while the average of the top 25 percentile of the batch was INR 1,03,276. The general selection consists of a written test and PI. The offered roles vary from corporate banking to data analyst.

From the 4th semester, i.e., the beginning of the 2nd year, the placement process starts.IIM Sirmaur provides the best placement opportunity for every student with 100% placement. Some companies that visited the placement season were DS group, EY, DE Shaw, Tiger Analytics, LtentView, Deloitte, Cognizant, virtusa, and Tech Mahindra. The highest package was 64.12 lakhs (international), and the Highest domestic package was 29 lakhs, with an average placement of 15 lakhs. I will try to get the best opportunity through campus placement and look forward to my career path.

The current fee for the upcoming batch is 16 lakhs. Students can avail of scholarships from central and state governments which can be viewed at scholorships.gov.in. The institute also provides merit cum means scholarship if the student falls in the required criteria of 7 CGPA and above after one year. Life at IIM Sirmaur is vibrant like rainbow colours where a student's not only academic but extracurricular activities are also taken care of. The classrooms are well equipped with AC, a projector, and comfortable seats rightly positioned. The institute has an in-house library that includes e-books from various journals and reviews and all the databases of cases required for reference. We also have a Bloomberg terminal that provides access to real-time financial data for students' analysis. At present day IIM Sirmaur also provide Coursera, data camp, and free courses for all the students to improve their skills. The campus also has gymnasium and indoor game facilities, including football, chess, pool table, table tennis also volleyball, and badminton court, currently, there are 7 committees,5cells, and 13 clubs to make campus life more enjoyable.

The hostels are excellent. For 1st year boys, Kailash is the hostel allotted near the mountains. The room has 1 fan and 1 table fan if needed, as there is proper ventilation in all the rooms. The homely feeling with a great view is always around the corner. The meals are prepared with taken care of hygienic conditions concerning all religions. The hostel is provided with a lottery/chit system once Mba registration is done.

The admission process is through cat, which consists of an aptitude test. The cat exam consists of three sections - quantitative, verbal, and reasoning. The phase one cut-off to get eligible for IIM Sirmaur is 92%ile. Then the next round consists of a personal interview, which revolves around the basic academic and general knowledge discussion. After PI a weighted score is calculated based on various parameters like past academic history, work experience, Gender diversity, or educational field diversity. The final merit list can be viewed from the institute website once the cap result is out.

There was a written test CAT which comprised three rounds- quantitative, reasoning, and verbal. It's a time-based test. The following process is PI which comes under CAP for IIM Sirmaur. The PI round in CAP generally goes for 20 to 30 minutes revolving around academic proficiency and the general knowledge awareness of the candidate.
