Remarks

good remarks: good infrastructure, quality student life and academic quality bad remarks: the kitchen labs are too small to occupy 35 people in one batch.

Entrance Preview

there was no entrance exam, the admission was given based on 12th grade marks. The college have a good reputation in the industry.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

in the manipal university website they have admissions column under which there is course course details for every degree. under hotel management they had all the information provided with course fee, course duration, industrial training etc. most importantly theey had a pdf file where all the information about college course subject teachers were given. it had all subjects from first to final year explained.

Internships Opportunities

yes they have a period of time in the course for internship which is compulsory. the stipend varies varies a lot. in the hospitality industry different department earns you different money. also the 5 star hotels apy lesser than a popular hapenning restaurant. when it come to offshore the pay scale is entirely different too, the stipend is way higher and based on no.of hours of working.

Placement Experience

4

Placement is one of the strong points of Manipal University. Some of the top companies come regularly to place our students and every year there is almost a cent per cent placement in the institutions. Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Ritz Carlton Hotels , ITC Hotels , Jet Airways , Starwood Hotels , Oberoi Hotels , The Park Hotels , GRT Radisson , IHG Hotels , Soukya .

College Events

4.5

tehre are a lot of events, clubs, groups etc. there are culturals almost durin g every festival. the college organisies simulation were there rae atleast 2 food fest a month in which the students gets to cook for the people who pay for it , this is usually a fine dine experience.

Fee Structure And Facilities

the fee structure is slightly on teh higher side with almost 2 lacs per annum tution fees.since thsi sis an arts program there are no scholarships but they do have reduced rates for the udupi localities. also with alumini like vikas khanna and other chefs at leading hotels we do understand the importance and value of teh course.

Fees and Financial Aid

there are scholarships for other departments of the university but in wghsa there isnt any scholarships being a arts and management course. the college does offer loans via ICICI i believe, not sure about the loan procedure and efficiency.

Campus Life

2.5

the campus like is good if your are an extrovert, you het it enjoy it more. the gender ration is 1:1.5 probably. the diversity in manipal is huge, there are people from all over the country, they adapt to manipal student life, food, weather, language etc. the college has a lots of extracurricular activites and workshops happening all the time. there is inter department sports events. and a mega fest very they have toast masters, dramatics, debates competitions.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

the wgsha hostels are very old, small, grumpy etc,. the rooms are quite small and 30yrs old. the only good thing about it is they have a/c, wit hthe summers in manipal its quite uncomfortable in such rooms. the mess food is again satisfactory the food is availed by everyone who have and havent paid for it and at the end of the semester the paid ones have to shellout more money due to excessive consumption of mess food.

Alumni/Alumna

the alumini visiting the college is quite often in wghsa. they share their experience in the hospitality field, tips for placements, about offshore jobs and plenty other informations.

Exam Structure

we have a continuous evaluation program where every practical class you get evaluated. the theory class isnt the same they marks us by frequent test semiars presentations etc. and at the end of each semester there is externals externals where each subject is for 100 marks which is 40% weightage in overall. the exam we write are through tab the being paper efficient. the exams are pretty serious

Admission

firstly i had to fill the admission form, then after waiting for my 12th grade results i was given the admission. there was a workshop where i could meet the principal and vice principal of the college, then went on to pay the remaining course fee. also had to reach out to the admission office several times for the conformation. after a few days i got an a mail conforming my admission and went on to pay the hostel fees.

Faculty

4

For placements, the college is pretty average. The placements are a joined effort between faculty and the candidates. The campus life is good as the college has all the facilities like library, close proximity to the city, auditorium and much more. The college provides training where the candidates are trained for the industries. The interact with the industry guest lecturers who share their experiences and provide more knowledge to the candidates.
