Exposure to realtime skills which are now relevant to the industry
Regular events to make sure, skills are honed and interests are discovered
Great placement opportunities when and training for the same

Dislikes

The events tho useful hamper regular academics
We are expected to work without any reward

Students are provided with management trainee placements across brands in hospitality which fast tracks their careers Placements start from 7th semester and students are eligible until they secure a company Highest is 9 lakhs per annum and average is 5 lakhs 98% is the average percentage of students getting placed Get a job and start climbing the ladder

The WGSHA Experience

Likes

The infrastructure of the college is impeccable. They provide world class amenities compared to other hotel management colleges in India. The libraries are filled with many books.
The curriculum is vast and includes current aspects of the hospitality industry and the faculty are equipped with knowledge within the industry to guide the students.
Campus life is vibrant and energetic. All the festivals are celebrated with soo much respect and fun.

Dislikes

The fees is a bit much personally compared to other colleges that provide similar degree in India

Course Curriculum Overview:

This curriculum provided me with so much on hand experience. The college provided me with experience within the college restaurant and student run cafes. There are oppurtunities to expand this course for many other higher education courses.

My experience at WGSHA

Likes

The curriculum of the course is excellent
The exposure is great, you get practical’s with exposure to all kinds of cases and co morbidities in kmc. You learn to counsel patients and do diet planning keeping in mind all comorbidities.
As a part of the curriculum, they ask us to do one month summer internship after the first year and 6 month internship in the 4th semester. It really provides excellent exposure and learning.

Dislikes

There was nothing specific that I disliked but since ours was the Covid batch, we missed out on a few opportunities. We did not have enough time and collect data on-site which impacted slightly. But they made us work on review paper and write one.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main reason I chose this college was for it's curriculum. The exposure in the hospitals and the internship opportunities. These exposures prepare you for the real world as you learn with the patients. The sessions, the lectures are also very relevant to the current scenario. If you do the assignments, work well during the internships and listen attentively it is not very hard to clear the course.

Is WGSHA worth it?

Likes

The faculty, campus facilities, Alumni network and the amount of opportunities.
Sports facilities like sports complex, sports tournaments
Hostel and Mess facilities. The food in Mess is great

Dislikes

The college is often too strict about grooming
The fees are a lot but the college is also very good

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campaign placements after the 8th semester. Total of 30 companies visit this college, like Taj, Marriott, Hilton, ITC, Hyatt,etc. highest and the average package varries from year to year. 99 percent of students get placed. My plans after a degree are moving out of India and becoming an entrepreneur

With academics,we had a lot of fun events also which made our college life a better experience

Dislikes

The college life is good but manipal is a place where a lot of unnecessary activities also happen where you can fall in trouble for.
Because of diverse amount of people coming from every part of India, it can't be a little overwhelming

Remarks:

The college is the best college of hotel management.The college has been declared 2nd position for the best college for hotel management in India and 27th rank in world as per the magazine.Thier is no negative remark about the college.
