Training Experience

First, you have to sit for NCHMCT jee and clear the exam. You'll get the college as per rank. You can also fill college preference. Further details will be provided by the council. The minimum marks are 120. The age limit is 23. You will be allowed to fill your choice preference twice. In case, you don't get your preference both the times you'll get to fill it for the third time which will be the final seat allotment process.

The faculty is good, highly knowledgeable and we'll experience in the industry. The Ratio is 10:8. The exams are conducted semester-wise. You are allowed to pass the exams based on various criteria like, attendance, assessments, theory, practical, etc. Since our degree is provided by IGNOU, we are supposed to appear for IGNOU exams of tourism once a year. We will be given the degree only if we are passed in this exam.

There is a wide range of options from where a student can complete his/her training in India as well as abroad. I had completed my training at The LaLiT, New Delhi. It was a great learning experience and really enjoyed my training days. Got a chance to work along with the experienced persons of the industry by seeing them working. You are allowed to experience the industry and the work pattern. You get an idea of how things run around within a hotel and the series of work from the back end to the front end.

Campus placement comes to the college in the middle of the fifth semester and students are eligible to apply for the companies visiting. There are several companies of Hospitality as well as retail-like Aditya Birla Fashion Group, Absolute barbecue, Starbucks, Marriott International, The Leela , The Oberoi and the companies offer as per their requirements. In my college, there was 100% placement pre-covid. The college is trying to bring as many companies as possible for placements even in this pandemic and students are still being paced with the reasonable package.

There is no fee for the registration of counseling, However, the candidate has to pay the acceptance fee of 40000 which will be inclusive of part of the list semester payment gateway available on the website. The scholarship is provided for the candidates who come under some quota.

Starting from the first year, you will have a lot of opportunities for being a part of fests and events. Christ University, Bangalore starts with their annual fest in between August and October. You will then come across "Ethnic Day" which happens every year around February where you will be wearing ethnic clothes and having authentic dishes in lunch. A fest named " Theme Lunch" is held in the second year for both the semester students in which they are supposed to chose a state and organise a function on that state as a theme. Books, journals and also the previous year question banks are available in the library. Sports day, annual day and many other events are held during the span of 3 years. There are clubs for each core department - 'Faces' for Front Office, 'Bistromer' for Food and Beverage Services, 'Gharaunda' for Housekeeping, 'Gourmet Marshalls' for Food Production.

A hostel room contains a bed, Study table, chair, and wardrobe for individual students. Hostel food is good and I would rate it as 7 out of 10. Candidates have to apply for hostel by filling up the form and a list will be prepared by a college person in which candidate name will be mentioned and rooms will be allotted. For rent and pg in Bangalore Indiranagar and RT Nagar are affordable and good.
