Decoding the Experience: A thorough review

MBA is an excellent course that paves the way for students which leads them to an incredibly outstanding career position in the near future. Also, the course helps in the personality development of students which is again a crucial aspect for anybody to survive in today's highly competitive era. Faculty: Student Ratio is 1:20(approximately) Faculty is a well-educated lot possessing degrees from highly esteemed and topmost degrees in the country. Term Examinations were on time and were moderate in terms of difficulty.

Different companies including ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, DCM Shriram, Accenture, and K12 visited the campus for summer internships. Stipend fell under different brackets starting from 30000 going on till 85000. Projects vary according to the companies and roles.

Students are eligible for Summer Internships as soon as they begin their first year and are eligible for final placements as soon as they enter their second year. Many companies visited and the highest package was 64L and the average was around 14L. Different profiles for different companies, mostly include marketing, sales, finance, operations, IT, and HR.

Fees hike happens every year by a certain percentage for the new batch. The scholarship is available for SC/ST students on a merit basis. Campus placements are there for both first and second-year students, first years summer internships and second-year final placements.

Life on campus is really thrilling. The annual fest's name is Sierra and takes place around March every year. Books and journals all are available in abundance in the library. The classroom has all the amenities which means air conditioners, heaters in winter, mosquito killer devices, a projector and so on. There are many sports and other activities conducted on the campus under the name SPL(Sports Premier League) and Rangmanch and Sanskriti Cell are involved in organising various cultural activities on festivals.

Hostel rooms have fans, almirahs, beds, buckets and attached washrooms in some hostels. Meal quality is fine and the menu is different every day. It includes both North Indian and South Indian foods, veg, and non-veg both. Hostel rooms are allocated at the time of registration for Term I and Term IV.

Common Admission Test commonly known as CAT was the process for admission to the course. Students with an undergraduate degree are eligible to sit in for the examination. The application form is available on the website, application fees is around Rs.1500 and the application opens up around August.

I had to face a personal interview round for admission. Interview questions mostly revolved around my undergraduate course and why would I like to pursue an MBA. In addition, there were questions based on current affairs and some general knowledge questions. IIM Sirmaur also conducts SAP(Supernumerary Admission Process) exclusively for Girl Students to increase the strength of girls and maintain a good gender diversity ratio.
