Likes

The campus is really greenery, calming, natural.
Since Campus is isolated from city, you get to develop really good bond with other students.

Dislikes

The teaching is average and inclined towards covering the syllabus. So not much interesting
I didn't liked the 75% attendance criteria.

Course Curriculum Overview

The history of electric engineering is very good in this college. The faculty-student ratio is good. The faculty are qualified but the teaching methodology is not too good. The term exam was not too tough and one can pass it by studying for not more than 10 days.

Placement Experience

From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Companies visited are Oracle, Microsoft etc. The highest package is nearly 80 lakhs and averages nearly 13 lakhs. NEARLY 45% of Students get placement from BIT. My plan after getting the degree is to build a company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of BIT are comparatively very high. Scholarships and internship opportunities keep coming here. One can easily get an education loan provided hereby by SBI. BIT is a very isolated place that's why there are not as many job opportunities.

Campus Life

The annual fest is BITOTSAV celebrated in FEB MARCH. Tech fest is ESUMMIT occurs 10 days before BITOTSAV. There is a central library here. There is a wide variety of books available. The sports culture is good here. Football and cricket tournaments are organised from time to time when players from other colleges come here. There are many clubs here like NCC, NSS, AVEON, and EDC. All are run by students.

Hostel Facilities

• In first year Double occupied room is provided and single room from the 2nd year onwards. The Room is quite small for two people to stay. There is only fan system in every single room. • Meal quality is average. Menu is decided by students themselves. Meal is managed by AKHS. • Registration process for Hostel is quite tiring.

Hostel Fee: INR 40000 per year

Admission

There is too much priority on the own state students. There should be equal admission for all state students. This will improve the environment of the college and this is I think a weakness of my Institute.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

BIT Mesra is mesmerizing!!

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Admission experience is obviously good because why would a clg not welcome a laxmi lol jk....Read More

Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
