Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course because Electrical engineering has good placements. The faculty-student ratio is approximately 1:15. All the faculties are highly qualified with PhDs in their respective field and are also involved in research. Teaching abilities can vary but most of the teachers are reasonably good at teaching.

Internships Opportunities

4

Amazon Google etc offers interns 1 lac per month. Smaller companies like Jio offer 50-60k. Not everyone gets internships. In Electrical around 40-50% of students get internship and this number is lower for mechanical, civil, etc.

Placement Experience

5

The college provides campus placement and well as internships. Campus placements take place in 1st semester of 4th year. Companies from software, core, and non-tech domains visit for recruiting. Amazon, Microsoft, Deloitte, and Analog Devices just to name a few. The average package is 23lpa (30lpa for cse. 27 for electrical, and 16-18 for mechanical civil and mems). Almost all students get placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

For open category students, the fees per semester are 1lakh(tuition fees) + 16k(hostel fees) + 17k(mess fees). If your family income is below 5LPA you will get a 66% waiver on tuition fees. For family income below 1LPA, you will get a 100% waiver. There are various schemes for people from reserved categories. Bank of Baroda also offers student loans up to 20 lakh to IIT Indore students which is more than enough to cover 4 years of B.tech.

Campus Life

4

The campus is new (7-8 yrs old) and still growing. It is located 20km from the city but most basic amenities are available inside the campus. We have a big library with many books and e-books available. For sports, we have facilities for all sports including squash. There are several clubs related to technical cultural and sports activities. All classrooms have ACs and a projector and screen. Cons: connectivity to city.

Admission

You need to clear JEE Main and subsequently JEE Advance. During my admission, there were no criteria for 12th marks due to covid. My branch i.e. Electrical Engineering closed around AIR 3700. You can find the application details on the official website of JEE mains.

At LNCT students become eligible for engineering placements in the final year. Like after 3rd year, meaningful intenrships are provided and most students get PPO through that. For those fail to do so, our college invites a lot of companies which gives us core placements.

You become eligible to sit for placements in 7th semester , that is , in your 4th year. There are companies like Google, Amazon, Deloitte, Accenture, Axxela, American Express, BNY Melon, Adobe , Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Optum, Oracle, etc. But in other IITs which are also 2nd generation, more companies (around 50) comes for on campus placements . The highest pay is mostly for Software development and Quant roles. Last year it was around 1 Cr per annum of a Computer Science student which is really great. And the average package was around 25-26 Lakhs per annum. Last year , around 88% of all students including B.tech and M.tech got placed with decent salary.
