What Students Say
Likes
- The campus life is awesome. There is lake beneath the campus which is literally a natural therapy for all the stress that we get.
- The hostel life. Endless amount of memories are made during those4 yrs.
- The teaching staff. Most of them are perfect in their field of work and are ready to help you in your studies.
Dislikes
- The college lacks a proper boundary. So u get to see houses, shops and various vehicles that passes through the main road of AEC everyday which gets annoying at times
- The equipments of the lab are very old and sometimes don't work properly.
- The food of the canteen of AEC is very expensive. So as students we find it difficult to purchase them.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose to pursue this course because B.tech in general has a wider scope in the later years compared to most of the courses in the market in the current times. Faculty is top notch with 3-4 teachers for each subject for 60-70 students. Most of the faculty teachers are AECians themselves and most of them have a Ph.D. degree in their respective departments.
Internships Opportunities
The companies that offer internships are oil, NRL, and various tech companies. I don't know much as am a freshman about the stipend thing but as far as am concerned, there is no such thing as a stipend when companies offer internships. It's mostly offered to students to improve their socialization skills, learn new things.
Placement Experience
Since I am a freshman, I don't have much knowledge about placements but as far as I know, students become eligible for placement during the 6th semester. Both core and tech companies visit the college each year ranging from companies like Cognizant, and Dalmiya to various renowned PSUs like Oil, and NRL. The average package ranges from 5-6 lakhs each year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since it's a government college the fee structure is quite affordable. Each year during the start of your odd semesters you have to pay approx 10,000 for your admission and in the between semesters 2-3k is needed for course registration, exam fees, etc.
Campus Life
The name of the annual fest is Pyrokinesis which is generally held in the month of March or April in recent years. A tech fest is also held each year following the events of the annual fest. Most of the books required for your studies are available in the library of the college. So there is a valid reason to buy the books instead of getting them from the Library.
Admission
To be eligible you will have to have PCM in +2 and have to give Common Entrance Exam which is held every year to get admission to this college. The application form is made available each year through the website of CEE and later most of the admission work is done online. You will get a seat easily if your rank is under 500 in the Cee exam. Questions of +2 come in the Cee exam. It's of total 480 marks of which physics, chemistry, and maths each have 160 marks. Since it's a government college you will have reservations. Some seats are reserved for ST, SC, and PWD. 2-3 seats are also reserved for students belonging to Tea Tribes and students having parents who have served in the army.
Other Applied Colleges
Dibrugarh Hanumanbux Surajmal Kanoi College - [DHSK] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Physics)
