Likes

The campus the beauty of which cannot be described in a mere few words
The hostel accommodation providing the students some of the best rooms to spend their 4 years in
The daily teaching routine which is neither too lenient nor too hectic

Dislikes

The mess food which never stands out to anyone's tastes
The abundant invasion of wild animals in the campus including monkeys, snakes, pythons, tigers etc
The university paper grading system which takes a lot of time to satisfy any student's queries

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is pretty up to date with the current course that is running all over India. Faculties are pretty helpful and exams are conducted on time. As for the teaching procedure, it is very student friendly with the usage of a green board, smart board, and projector all at once. The ppts are even shared with the students after class for ease of students.

Placement Experience

The Training and Placement Cell of AEC has done a splendid job over the past years making it very easy for students even in the core branches to get jobs in PSUs like OIL India, IOCL, NRL, BALCO, BHEL, etc. There is a lot to add to the list. Any student getting placed in the above companies can expect a package not less than 9 LPA with recently the package getting as high as up to 24 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The admission fee is only a minimal amount of 1400 rupees which is very less compared to any other educational institution in the country. Moreover in the final year of the student one can sit for various placement interviews and one can expect a very decent salary.

Campus Life

Campus life is awesome. The enormous campus with a vast amount of greenery soothes the eye. If that wasn't enough the hills in the backdrop of the main building of the college, where the clock tower is situated, add to the overall beauty of the campus. Also, there are various clubs in the college for a student to make constructive use of their free time.

Hostel Facilities

Currently. there are seven boys' hostels and one enormous girls' hostel that provide accommodation to more than 700 students in the college. The rest of the students opt for a PG or a rented house which is available readily both inside and outside the campus.

Hostel Fee: INR 30000 per year

Admission

Admission into Assam Engineering College happens through the Combined Entrance Exam (CEE) and upon scoring a handsome score one can expect to get a seat in the college. The details of the exam are available directly through the website.

Placement Experience:

The college placement aren't much in our college because our college is too deep inside the area it's like a village area companies find it difficult to come here. Companies mostly come for chemical and mechanical engineering students to hire them. For electrical and civil you have to apply off campus. I don't know the highest package from our college but the recent package that was offered by mahindra to mechanical engineering students was 19000 per month. Atleast 35% students get on campus placement. My plan after degree is to pursue mtech or maybe BFA in Seoul, South Korea or maybe find a job outside india

Placement Experience:

The placement of this university is not upto the mark. The highest package recieved by a student was 37 LPA. He was an ECE student. The average LPA is around 6-7 LPA. I think it's a bit low compared to NITs/IITs. But compared to other central and state universities its quite good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is btech and since it is an IIT the faculty are the best in their fields profs here have done PhD from Stanfords of the world and the prof-student ratio is very healthy. Although there are a lot of exams in the ballpark weekly one or the other exam will be there and the exams are very tough but grading is relative.

Placement Experience:

You are eligible for internship placement in the 5th semester and for the full time, you're eligible for campus placement in the 7th semester. 223 offers were made for 22 pass out students. Some of the companies that visited our campus are Amazon Deloitte ZS Associates Tekion Mindtickle Gamescraft. The highest package was 61.5 lakhs and the average package was 15.34 lakhs. 95.12 per cent of students got placed. My plan after college is to work as a software developer.

My college experience

Admission is based on the scores obtained. admission using their JEE scores, entering through the CSAP round and JoSAA counseling. The college provides category-based benefits for SC, ST, OBC, and EWS candidates. The cutoff marks for the college typically range from 120 to 130 out of 480. Only the top-performing students in the entrance exam are admitted to the college.
