- There are some teachers who's teaching style is sub par
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I'm keen on going into the field of HR, and I thought MBA would make good sense. All the facilities are PHDs. In a year, there are three terms and exams were moderately difficult barring some that might be exceptionally easy or difficult.
Internships Opportunities
A lot of organizations came offering a range of stipends. The highest being 80000 per month and the lowest being unpaid. However, there were good brand names that came along with good job roles, and in contrast there were some organizations that turned out to be not so nice.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible in the fourth semester. A lot of companies visit and a lot of offers are made. Each year the number increases. Highest Package: 26.5lpa. Average package: 12.74lpa. 100 percent of students get placed. My plan after getting the degree is to enter the corporate and carry on from there.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees hike isn't too much. It's decent. However, I feel that the fees in themselves could've been less considering we're on the temporary campus and the refundable caution money could've been deducted less.
Campus Life
Sierra is the biggest annual fest that is held in the organization by the cultural committee. The institute has a nice library with a good range of books and a Bloomberg terminal. Students here are pretty enthusiastic about sports and various sports competitions are held all around the year. IIM Sirmaur is completely a student-driven campus where everything from dealing with vendors to planning cultural events is taken care of by the students solely which makes the quality of things better.
Hostel Facilities
Bed, cupboard, table, chair, bucket, and mug is individually provided to each student. The rent includes everyday housekeeping and electricity. Meal quality is very nice, good food is served in unlimited quality. Hostel and mess fees are quite decent compared to others.
Admission
Eligibility Criteria: Around 85-92 CAT percentile for a general category student. The student must have finished their graduation and should've scored above 50 percent. IIM Sirmaur generally conducts it's rounds under the CAP interview process along with 8 other IIMs. If the student has ticked for IIM Sirmaur while filling out the CAT registration form and gets the minimum percentile to be eligible for the same then the student would be considered by the institute There is no additional application charge or particular dates because as mentioned it comes under CAP. There's no as such improvement i wish to see, but I feel it would be nice if GDs could be incorporated too.
Interview Experience
I had to go through the CAP interview round. There were two panelists who took my interview. I was asked about myself and some questions about my goals and plans. I was thorough with the current affairs before the interview as well as the understanding of my field of graduation.
