Course Curriculum Overview
The material provided is at par with other IIMs. The teaching pattern is case-based where cases are from HBS. MBA in itself is a well-rounded course, which includes academics, co-curricular activities, internships, and the final placement.
Internships Opportunities
The internships are pretty good in terms of the type of roles offered and the types of companies that visit the campus. The students are expecting new and better companies in the next year with the new campus.
Placement Experience
The placements at the institute are getting better and better each year. This year the institute saw a YoY growth of 29% in terms of the average package. An above-average student is satisfied with the placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees at the Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur are nominal and give a good return on investment for students. A good student can easily get a 16+ package. The institute also provides several scholarship schemes.
Campus Life
The campus life is hectic as well as fun at IIM Sirmaur. We would be shifting to the permanent campus this year. The institute has an annual cultural and sports fest called Sierra and several sports competitions throughout the year.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are decent even on the temporary campus. The first-year girl's hostel is double sharing with a common washroom. Second-year hostels are double sharing with personal washrooms. The new campus has single rooms with a common washroom.
Admission
I was admitted under the Supernumerary admission process (SAP). The process was simple, personal interviews only. I believe the institute can incorporate another level such as Written tests or group discussions.
Interview Experience
The interview lasted for 10-15 minutes. The process was smooth as I was intimidated about the process a week before. The only issue with the process was that I was not given a particular time slot for the interview and had to wait for 2 hours before it started.
