Remarks

It is one of best Institutions even today & students from this college were always preferred over others. The college management was very good & all were frequently getting feedbacks about faculty & other facilities.

Entrance Preview

It was a prestigious college where Dr. Sir M Vishweshwariah the Dewam of Mysore & he who constructed KRS Dam studied.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum was impressive. For first two years there was no specialization & I had exposure in all faculties such as civil, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical engineering. In 4th year I got admitted to specialization on merit in Electronics & communication engineering.

Internships Opportunities

At that time there was no internship .But college had very good name & there was no problem in getting jobs as the course was new & plenty of opportunities were there.

Placement Experience

4

As college was famous world wide getting placements was no problem. Every Industry had open offers for the out comers from this college. We had lot of offers from abroad also & many of my friends joined various companies abroad such as NASA etc.At that time the salary was not so big & that was the reason many opted to go abroad.

College Events

4

We had annual day celeberations every year when we used to assemble in common & enjoy cultural activities. As said earlier we had little time to give attention for extra curricular activities since the exam was there every 6 months & we had to write internal assessment every month. We however managed both & participated in several activities such as singing, dancing etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As I got a seat on merit basis I was eligible for annual merit scholarship of Govt of India & my fees was subsidized by Govt.Instead of paying fees I was getting income every year & I gave no burden to my parents. I saved the money from scholarships & used later for applying for jobs.Though engineering was a costly course since I got Govt help I could make to top in the exams & get distinction in exams. The teachers also helped a lot & there was no need for any tuition.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college was prestigious one & was recognized for central govt scholarships besides state govt subsidies.I my self was a recipient of central Govt scholarship & state govt fees subsidy. There was also many donors who had instituted funds for helping poor. There was no educational loan at that time & parents had to struggle for payment of fees.

Campus Life

4.5

There were very few girls opting for engg at that time. I had only one girl in my batch & in the entire college there were not more than 10 girl students.Particularly for mechanical engg there were no girl students. The work shop included welding ,plumbing, carpentary etc. There was no religion based discriminations & it was purely merit based.Of course there was management quotas & influential people had access to those seats.

Hostel Facilities

4

I was a native of Mysore & there was no need for any hostel facility for me.I was travelling from home by bicycle & college was very near. I am told that hostel facility was good & food served was also of good standard. There was no ragging at that time & hence hostel mates had cool time throughout. The hostel was located just behind the college & warden was very good.

Alumni/Alumna

We have an alumni association & we meet once a year.We have also Institution of Engg where the graduates had access to become members. There were regular discourses by eminent engineers in different fields. We had nice interaction with elders in the field & exchange of ideas.

Exam Structure

It was a semester course & we had exam every 6 months. There was internal assessment & we had to get min 18 marks It was tough to meet the target & we had tough time in getting the min required. It was also difficult tom prepare for exams every 6 months & we were almost engaged throughout the year. We had less time for extra curricular activities.Of course we had one education tour in 4thh year & we visited several industries incl BEL

Admission

Merit seat. I got scholarship & fees waiver. I got one year exemption also as I had completed BSc degree also. I was directly admitted to 2nd year course. The faculty was very good & lab facilities were extremely good. My class mates were all very good & good mannered. There was no ragging & I had a smooth go throughout the course.

Faculty

4.5

It was a second batch in Electronics & faculty were almost our seniors only. We had pleasant time. Teachers were almost like friends & we had opportunity to discus every aspect. The lab was also upcoming & was slowly being equipped. We had opportunity to see installation of many equipments & had opportunity of directly discussing with suppliers.

Placement Experience:

Students in my college have a very good amount of campus placements where students become eligible from the final year 7th semester however the placement cell starts training from the 1st year means 1st semester itself like training for aptitude test, coding and mock interviews. Top it companies like TCS infosys, wipro, Accenture, capgemini, cognizant, IBM, tech mahindra mind tree. The campus receives 300+ offers. The average package 8 - 10 LPA and highest package 54 LPA. Every year 90% students are placed. After my degree i am planning to higher studies in abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is generally detailed and aligned with industry Expectations but there is still scope for modernisation in certain areas.Overall i would like to rate 8/10. The syllabus include both theoretical and multiple lab components which ensures hands on learning. The practical labs like programming work and project with learning help students understand how concepts are applied in real work places. A few theory heavy subjects feel outdated and no longer match the current industry demand this could be revised or replaced.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester, but the overall placement scenario in DSCE for CSE is below average. Not even 50% of students get placed in good companies. Most students end up getting offers from mass recruiters or in sales and non-tech roles. Only a small percentage of top performers get decent technical packages. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, Cognizant, and a few mid-tier companies visit the campus, but the number of high-package, core-tech roles is very limited. The average package is on the lower side compared to other top COMEDK colleges. Because of this, many students plan for higher studies, certification courses, or off-campus drives after completing the degree. The on-campus placement support definitely needs improvement, especially for technical roles.”

Placement Experience:

The students who are studying in 7th semester ( final year) are eligible for campus placements but before that in 5th semester there is pre placement training like aptitude everything. Top companies visit for placement like TCS , infosys, wipro, accenture, capegemini, IBM, techmahindra, Mindtree. Average there are 150-250 offers. Average package is 7-8 lpa. The highest package is 54 lpa at botify company. 85 % of students get placed at cse branch and ai amd ml and civil 30 - 50% . Overall 80% students gets placed. My plan is join a top product based company liek google with a good life.
