Remarks

Good thing was staff were knowledge and has a grip on subject. Only bad thing is they do too much building activities every year which is not actually bad but kind of disturbance.

Entrance Preview

Common entrance test. Scored 4109 rank. Biggest reason to opt for this college is as it's best known for mechanical engineering which is my favorite branch at that time.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course I took was mechanical. We had 8 semester which included 4 electives. The course was structured pretty well as per the norms set by education department. It included detailed courses on thermodynamics, hydraulics, turbines, automobiles, current indictable like industry engineer.

Internships Opportunities

No internship was provided when I studied. Though they helped students in doing projects for academics

Placement Experience

5

Placement department was very good. They were able to bring in loads of Companies for recruitment. They helped students in all the interview process. They had great level of contacts with many big MNC's which helped students in getting an opportunity for students and Good exposure as well.

College Events

5

Udbhav- an event which I can't forget. It used to happen for 4 days which gathered lots of ppl. It was the college fest and we used to have inter departmental fest as well. Also many informative events used to happen which benefit students like latest technology in industry.

Fee Structure And Facilities

When I used to study it was pretty decent. I went on general merit. So the fee was 25 k per semester. But the time I passed out of college it reached 30k per semester. For me it was pretty feasible. I was not staying in hostel, so not sure about that fee but my friends used to say it was 60 k per year

Fees and Financial Aid

No idea about this. But people used to come with quotas for SC ST students who were getting scholarships.

Campus Life

5

Campus was huge. It is so so so big that we used to get tired roaming there. I loved the open canteen personally which is no more now. Currently when I went there, they built new blocks for hostel and new class rooms as well. MSRIT is famous for one more thing that there is 0% ragging in campus but in hostel no one can avoid that. Gender ratio was well balanced. MSRIT encouraged students to participate in sports and other cultural activities as well. College was not politically oriented and treated all equally. Debates used to happen but not so frequent

Hostel Facilities

5

I didn't stay in hostel but have gone in. It was good for students and Good was decent. They used to charge nominal fee. Mess we had was very good and I enjoyed a lot there. They used to serve good and cheap food. Hostel used to have recreation rooms and tv rooms

Alumni/Alumna

They maintain alumni Network which is pretty active and invites old students via email for any activity that happens in college

Exam Structure

It was completely chilled out. Exams were very well structured. We used to have loads of gaps between each exam which helped students to prepare well for each of them. Internals used to happen on monthly basis and labs in weekly basis. Lab exams used to happen before main exam

Admission

Got the seat through CET and admission process was quite smooth as the staff helped in all the forms and process. Got the DD for the payment through the post office located inside campus and completed the process. All went quite smooth. The staff were very helpful and co-operative.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty were pretty knowledgeable. They were able to answer all our questions. We had very experienced professors. They qualified highly and they were very good in what that were reaching. Also they were strict enough to handle students. Staff helped in my career success

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
