Remarks

They should provide more awareness sessions to students.

Entrance Preview

I got a rank of 7910 in Kerala entrance, and based on my preference list, this college was selected.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course which I had selected which is electronics and communication was the one which was the most preferred course at that time followed by mechanical engineering. We followed MG University curriculum, and this was easy to follow and was understandable. Also the professors quality was good. But the quality of curriculum when compared with Cochin University was less.

Internships Opportunities

No. As per my knowledge, there was no internship as all the projects should be done within the college.

Placement Experience

2.5

There were many companies which came for placement during our senior's tenure. Around 130 students were placed in tcs from the lot of 300 during that time and the rest got placed in other companies. When it came to our tenure, less companies came and only few students got selected because of recession. TCS took around 30 and just took around 40 in total.

College Events

5

We had many events celebrated in the college and one among that is Brahma cultural event, where many colleges from different parts of country will come to participate. As part of promotion there were many things done like flash mob, road show etc. Apart from cultural, we had technical events too. Also we had festival celebration as well like onam celebration, Xmas celebration. The management gave full support for these events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

There was two slabs when I was studying. One is merit and other is management seat. Fee for merit seat for self financing college was 35k and which is little bit more when compared to government college which just had 6k per year. So I would say, that fee they incurred from us was expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was no loan facility as per my knowledge. But there was free education for poor students who were having good scores in entrance.

Campus Life

3

The one and only thing which I miss right now is my college life. We had people from different parts of country, different religion and caste, but there was no difference when it came to friendship. When it came to events or trips we were together and there was no sign of politics from any person. There was a mix of new ideas coming from different people which helped immensely in our cultural events or technical events.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

Hostel facilities was very good and every day all rooms and toilets are cleaned. Food quality was good, but there was no variety. We had just vegetarian mess, and it would have been better if we selected for menu. Another thing about the hostel I want to project is the water facility. There were many instances when water was not there and as a result we were late to our classes in college. I would rate 5/10

Alumni/Alumna

They were very helpful. They have helped us to sort problems which came in the events we organised or anything related to studies

Exam Structure

We had regular exams and each one counts in as internal marks. So it was kind off hectic, as there will be shortage in internal even if got absent on that particular day. And it is difficult to take leave when there is labs on that particular day, as we need to do the particular activity during our free time, to get the sign from professor

Admission

I got selected based on ranking system from the entrance exam I took part. I got selected to this college based on my preference list which was earlier set. On the very first allocation process I got electrical engineering course in same college. And in the second allocation process, I got my desired course which is electronics and communication and that too in same college. After I got allocated to this college, I had a short interview with the principal and my father before admission.

Faculty

3.5

All the faculties in my college was highly qualified and they had a very good knowledge about the subject. Also they were helpful in all means, not even in studies. Most of them were PhD graduates. Time management was the one thing which they need to work on it, because in order to finish a portion they may go very fast or take extra classes

Placement Experience:

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.
