I am interested in engineering that's why I have chosen this course. There is no student ratio for any, doesn't matter if it's a boy or girl, who have cleared the entrance exam are welcome to take admission. Faculty qualification:- Masters in Technology Review teaching method:- 7/10

Class Size: 1000Course Fees: INR 1500 per year

Internships Opportunities

Under NF RAILWAY, we have done our internship training. They showed us all the construction works running under the railways and explain everything. Pile foundation, track maintenance, culvert, water supply through pipeline etc.

Placement Experience

From the 5th semester (3rd-year part-I) students become eligible for campusing. JD Ramky, talents global limited, Amazon, and Anudip foundation are the companies that visited our college and gives offers for placement. The highest package is for 3LPA offered by Amazon and the average package was 1.2LPA offered by JD Ramky. 30% of students get placement every year. I will continue my studies as a B-TECH student.

Fees and Financial Aid

We have to pay fees on a yearly basis. The fees increase by 10-15% every year. Every student got Swami Vivekananda Scholarship if he/she has scored well. Got a job for 20000 monthly on the college campus.

Campus Life

The annual fest or tech fest is named the day of SGPIANS and it is conducted in June/July month. Syllabus bypass all books are available in the library. www.sgpolytechinc.org is the official website of our college, Siliguri Government Polytechnic.

Admission

Eligibility criteria The student must be madhyamik passed with more than 35% marks. The application form is available on the official website:- wbscvte.co.in The application fee is Rs. 500 for general/OBC candidates and for SC/ST and female candidates it is Rs. 250 The application for Diploma in engineering & technology may be started around January - February and the last date of submission will be around the last week of April as well.

I don't know about any other college but my college have industry orient syllabus. And the teachers were highly qualified and experienced. They don't use the conventional way of theaching. Placement Experience:

After passing 4th semester L&T, TATA, NIPPON STEEL, JSL, JSW, BRAVO etc Highest package provided is around 8-10 LPA and average package provided is around 4 LPA. Usually and L&T and JSL provides high packages Almost 70-80% of students I'm going to take admission in a BTECH college for persuing Bachelor in Engineering degree

From final year, the companies start visiting our campus for placements, Very few companies arrives and with an average package of 2 Lakhs per annum in our college. The placement rate is overall very low and there is a room for improvement in this.

I belong a lower middle class family so I knew that it is diploma Engineering which is held by jexpo entrenced exam that is quietly easy for me to qualify a govt college. In daily study base i undergoes with my study. Teaching method of my college teacher are quite good but management system of this diploma are very bad.

We college have many companies like tata motors, cumming company, dana limites, spices limited, Ashok Leyland. Mahindra. L and t company and much more high package is 3.5 lakh per annum aur department students got 90 per cent placed. I have been placed in tata motors which gives me 3.2 lacs per annum. Oky so I applied for many colleges in the counselling time but those colleges were very far from my hometown and Siliguri government polytechnic college comes at top 10 colleges for this diploma course and Also I came on a merit basis My 10th marks were asked and they gave me a rank and then I had to go for counseling and admission process for which I came to Siliguri made my admission. Also there's one thing that in the admission time it was written that we have hostel in our college but when we visited physically they said they don't have hostel. You have to qualify the Secondary examination from any recognized board with 35%. You have to score 30% in Maths, Science and English. The admission process is done by JEXPO or VOCLET ( Lateral Entry )examination. You have to pass the Higher secondary or equivalent to particpate in Voclate Examination.
