I am interested in engineering that's why I have chosen this course. There is no student ratio for any, doesn't matter if it's a boy or girl, who have cleared the entrance exam are welcome to take admission. Faculty qualification:- Masters in Technology Review teaching method:- 7/10

Class Size: 1000Course Fees: INR 1500 per year

Internships Opportunities

Under NF RAILWAY, we have done our internship training. They showed us all the construction works running under the railways and explain everything. Pile foundation, track maintenance, culvert, water supply through pipeline etc.

Placement Experience

From the 5th semester (3rd-year part-I) students become eligible for campusing. JD Ramky, talents global limited, Amazon, and Anudip foundation are the companies that visited our college and gives offers for placement. The highest package is for 3LPA offered by Amazon and the average package was 1.2LPA offered by JD Ramky. 30% of students get placement every year. I will continue my studies as a B-TECH student.

Fees and Financial Aid

We have to pay fees on a yearly basis. The fees increase by 10-15% every year. Every student got Swami Vivekananda Scholarship if he/she has scored well. Got a job for 20000 monthly on the college campus.

Campus Life

The annual fest or tech fest is named the day of SGPIANS and it is conducted in June/July month. Syllabus bypass all books are available in the library. www.sgpolytechinc.org is the official website of our college, Siliguri Government Polytechnic.

Admission

Eligibility criteria The student must be madhyamik passed with more than 35% marks. The application form is available on the official website:- wbscvte.co.in The application fee is Rs. 500 for general/OBC candidates and for SC/ST and female candidates it is Rs. 250 The application for Diploma in engineering & technology may be started around January - February and the last date of submission will be around the last week of April as well.

My Experience at TPI as a 3rd Year Diploma Undergrad

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are good. Big names are associated with TPI for campus placements. But for Computer Science students, very few companies arrive, that too with very less salaries. (not worth it). It is generally reccomendable if you can do a Btech is come college and work on your skills there, your employbility gets higher. Highest package from Computer Science is 20 LPA (off-campus) and lowest package is 1.8 LPA (on-campus). Generally on campus placements range from 2 to 3 LPA.

We college have many companies like tata motors, cumming company, dana limites, spices limited, Ashok Leyland. Mahindra. L and t company and much more high package is 3.5 lakh per annum aur department students got 90 per cent placed. I have been placed in tata motors which gives me 3.2 lacs per annum. My plan is to do b tech at Jadavpur University.

Best start for a professional life

Placement Experience:

From fifth semester semester students became eligible for campus drive recruitment. And college also started campus drive. As i earlier mentioned that campus drive are not that much satisfying at all during 2012-2014. I was passed out at 2014 & in my time there's only one company came for civil engineering branch except that all are IT companies. For electronics & telecommunication and Computer science student there's lots of scope at that period. Some of them got package of 3.6 lakh per annum which may be the highest package as far as i know during my days. In an average we get 2 lakh per annum package. I just set one campus drive recruitment of Printika pvt. Ltd. which recruited almost 15 civil engineer from our branch. They offered 2 lakh per annum package to all. As a percentage of placed student from my branch is almost 20%. Overall from 2014 batch it'll be 30-50%. Unfortunately i didn't placed from that placement drive as I'm planning for higher study.

After the 5th Semester apparently companies start interviewing students. I am going through campusing right now. I have been selected by Aurora for further interviewing. Highest package is of Jindal around 17k and average package is 11k with accommodations. 85-90% students get placement. I am planning for higher study completing B.tech after getting the degree.

Crescent foundry and so many companies are visited our campus and offerd almost every students for job.the highest package is 1.80 lpa and lowest is 1.44 lpa. There re almost 60 percent students are placed and rests are getting prepare for next campusing.My plan is doing job after completing this degree.

You have to qualify the Secondary examination from any recognized board with 35%. You have to score 30% in Maths, Science and English. For admission one need needs to appear in the JEXPO entrance examination while in/ after class 10th, and appear for the councelling based on the rank achieved. All the details are posted on the WBSCTE website. For 2019, the last round admission cut offs went to around 22k.
