Remarks

I have absolutely loved my college part if my life, and I owe it all to the university I was a part of. I would definitely suggest the same to anyone who is looking forward to a fruitful career, and an adventurous life. The college management has taken extensive efforts to make the college life of any student under them, have a safe environment to work, grow and learn together. The initial hiccup would be the fee structure, but the bigger picture is always the life it gives you. It's worth it.

Entrance Preview

The entrance exam I had written was Amrita entrance exam, for engineering courses. I had a ranking of 7800, and I had counselling, through which I could get myself into the engineering stream. I was determined to get myself into this University, that I had the courage to not even apply in any other University entrances. I did not even have a second thought on anything else. I had my first overview of this college when I was here to drop my sister off for her college. Back then, the impression my sister gave, and what I had seen with my own eyes laid the foundation for the adherence that I would do my college and course here.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course structure deals with having a plethora of subjects in the first year, thereby giving all the students an idea as to how everything works based on science, and an idea of all the main course of engineering available throughout. 2nd, 3rd and 4th year, had it's focus only on the specific course in has chosen, and every semester had electives to choose from depending upon an individual. With focus on research, the unbelievable amount of depth put across to every subject taken helps us understand and re think what we would really love to do further after the end of ones under graduation. This kind of in depth knowledge and assimilation of all subjects not only helps in knowing the course better, but also helps us in relation each subject with each other, because as we all know, deep under science, almost everything is having the same root.

Internships Opportunities

Internship was provided in the final semester for certain branches such as computer science, and IT. They were given a chance to work with top notch MNC's like Cerner corporation, Cisco, etc. Which even absorbed the same students based on their performance. Stipend provided was the average industry standard pay.

Placement Experience

5

The university boasts of it's 100% placement. This holds true. As year by year, I've seen it happen. The companies that come are varied and of great quality and experience. Cisco, TCS, CTS, Infosys, Accenture, Facebook, Cerner, caterpillar, Bosch, Manglore fertilizers, Saint Gobain, Wipro, Google, SAP, Musigma and much much more. The packages offered we're average 4 lakhs, and went up to 10-12 lakhs too.

College Events

4.5

Technical fest is called Anokha, which is held every year, where in multiple college in and around the country participated in good numbers. Cultural fest celebrated is called amritotsavam, which is celebrated grandly within the college by the college students. The management fest is called Pragyan, which is taken care by the management students of the college. Again, colleges from multiple cities visited for the same.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is a little on the expensive side, as it holds better facilities than the other college too. My hostel fees were roughly 70k per year inclusive of the hostel. My tuition fees were roughly 1.2L per year. And there were other fees too, which all together came up to 2.3L per year. I felt any college of such stature and facility have the rights to charge this fee.

Campus Life

5

Campus life was an absolute beauty mainly because of the geographical location of the whole campus and the good crowd which comes in as students and faculty. There was state if the art facility available for swimming, gym, etc. The gender ratio was roughly 50:50 ratio. Maybe a higher side for the boys. The extra curricular activities were the fest, and various clubs existing within the college for students if different interests to hone their skills in any particular field. No discrimination of any sort in terms of Creed, color, caste, race etc. It was all equal, and all the students had to wear uniforms. So, even in that manner, no form of discrimination existed. Various competitions relating to debates and small robotics competition were held on a small scale.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel rooms were of good size. It was a 4 sharing room. No attached bathrooms. 2 double decker beds were given for 4 people. Good and and lights, immediate repair people available in case of any issue. 2 large benches and 4 chairs. WiFi is available, and multiple facilities to play indoor games whenever necessary. PG cost was roughly 6k per month. This was usually not the preferred option as the food at the hostel was good.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network helped many with acquiring jobs that ones really wanted. Alumni meetings are held once every year, and various discussions and topics are covered in the same.

Exam Structure

The exams had it's fair share if our days. We had periodical exams twice in every semester and a final end semester exam. Tests on a small scale were taken on a weekly basis too. If there was steady listening in class, followed by little attention to assignments given, exams were not a big issue to handle.

Admission

The college basically calls for a necessity of a good score to be taken in one's 10th and 12th grades. In 10th and.12th grade, one needs to score above 80% for them to even apply for a management seat in the university. The reason behind this being, the curriculum the university follows is stringent on understanding the concepts deeply, and then applying the same into situations that post as questions in the question paper. So it takes more than just average marks in school, for them to judge if one can cope with their syllabi. Applied for the entrance through online gateway, and appeared for the exam, got my results in a month, and accordingly got called in for respective counselling date and day based on only my rank. The courses available at whichever branch of the university will be seen, and I had kept a couple of choices on my mind to select one amongst them whatever was available. The administration of the whole process was led by extremely well read professional academic teachers, who had a clear idea of the subjects and helped the students what they were about to take up.

Faculty

4.5

The minimum qualification necessary, is a UG in the course, Masters in the course followed by either an already acquired PhD or a pursuing PhD scholar, nothing less. At the same time, keeping aside the strength of their academics, characteristic traits like ability to communicate and blend in with the students is taken into account while getting professors onboard.

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.
