Remarks

Past few years, there have been many administrative change that may have eroded the credibility of the campus. I sincerely hope the institute takes enough steps to bring back the glorious past it had.

Entrance Preview

The course required entrance exam which was carried out at institute itself after clearing the exam students were required to under go through Group Discussion/Debate post which there were personal interview (PI). I choose the particular course to improve the Urban Development scenario in India.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course was divided in four semester, first semester was common for all the planning students and post that individual labs and subjects were taught for 2 semester, last semester was reserved for thesis. The course also required students to undergo summer internship for two months after 2 semesters.

Internships Opportunities

The course also required students to undergo summer internship for two months after 2 semesters. Various companies and organizations took students of CEPT as interns and paid accordingly, it ranged from 5000-20000/month.

Placement Experience

3

Various companies and organizations came for placements and recruited students nationally as well as internationally, the package for the students were in range of CTC 3- 7 lakh. Although not all the students got placed through campus and placements.

College Events

2.5

Since the campus had students enrolling from all over India, the diversity was clearly visible as most of the festivals were celebrated with equal amount of enthusiasm and college committees were also formed so that celebrations are undertaken by students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The only problem with the Institute was the fee structure, the institute over last few years has started levying hefty fees for each of the course, the rise over the years could be in range of 3 times than it was in 2011. It must be in range of 37,500/sem in 2011 which is now close to 1.2 lakh/sem.

Fees and Financial Aid

The university although does not offer any loan but gives student stipend of Rs. 8000/ month to students who have cleared GATE national entrance examination. Afterwards, they may have started fee waiver scheme for some students.

Campus Life

3.5

It was lively campus as there used to be events, lectures from eminent persons and activities that kept campus vibrant all throughout years. The activities included sports week, celebrating various days and sometimes organizing blood donation camps. People from all region, religion were welcomed whole heartedly

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The food at campus was mostly good and available at a reasonable price, after a year the contract got renewed and new company handled mess food, they started charging too much for food although their food quality was good as well. I was local so not aware much about hostel facility.

Alumni/Alumna

As the field of planning is not heard by many of the people, the alumni network does not have many members and most of people know everyone, the alumni es are working in various fields and they encourage companies to hire students of CEPT.

Exam Structure

The exams were taken on systematically and required students to have in depth knowledge of particular subject, most of lab activity took too much toll on students as it required students to stay at campus for late nights, that said it made the campus more vibrant.

Admission

Initially after filling the form and sending the required documents in hard copy, I received letter from CEPT stating the procedure, timing of exam and other necessary details. The course required entrance exam which was carried out at Institute itself after clearing the exam students were required to under go through Group Discussion/Debate post which there were personal interview (PI).

Faculty

3.5

The faculties were mainly helpful while conducting lectures as well as labs, they were also available all the time and you can easily go to their cabin and ask for any kind of help wrt to problems. The assignments given by them enhanced our knowledge of the subject.

Placement Experience:

Before the placements after the completion of the second semester, students can also do their optional internship. But over the years the students have found these internships very beneficial and the committees help the students to get through the placements as much as possible. Once the students have completed their third semester the placement procedure begins. The placement is well coordinated by the placement committee where reputed firms be a part of this process. During my batch, 95% of the transport students got placed. The ones who did not get placed were by choice as they had their commitments. The highest package offered was around 8 lakh per annum.
