Remarks

Its a libral University where the students are cared about most.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is specific to Indian Site/ projects. And makes us ready for the professional work. The exam structure is more of understanding the concept. So mostly we have open book exams. And assignment. Jury reviews are the final output we make. And then the portfolio submission of the studio work. The course in its initial stages of semester is purely research based.

Placement Experience

3.5

The University has its Placement committee. As of the placement depends upon the department as faculty of planning has 5 departed, namely Urban planning, urban design, urban infrastructure, urban housing, urban transport planning. The most companies prefer planner. May it be infrastructure or housing or transport. The University has the common CV template for the students. 70% is the students placed per department.

College Events

5

Each festival is celebrated in the university may it be Ganesh Chaturthi or Onam, or pongal, Greatly celebrate the Navratri. The Navratri is most attractive festival in City Of Ahmedabad. Known ad CEPT GARBA. But only for students alumni and students form particular Institute like IIM-A, NID, Nirma University etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees are bit expensive it was a trade of which university made for the diverse students which they can intake. But university itself provide scholarship of two types Merit based and Means based for the economical weaker background students. The University has uploaded past 8 years of Audited balance sheet. Which is on public domain.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, university offers two types of scholarship and a student assistant support to students who do not get scholarship. Eligibility criteria for merit based scholarship is the are top 2 in the merit list and for the means based scholarship the family income should be less than 10 lakh. No I have not opted for any scholarships. Neither any loan.

Campus Life

5

Gender ration M:F is. 30:70. The University has its own workshop, printing shop, stationery shop etc. The most diverse students I have seen in a university as the students are from all over India not just Ahmedabad, economic status of the students is majority is middle class. Uper middle class.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes I have opted for Hostel. Hostel seats are limited but most of the students who opt for hostel get them. For 6 months hostel fees is 13000/- hostel is well maintained every day. The cleal toilet, good housekeeping staff.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the University has a website dedicated for the alumni network. Where job opening and other events are available. Senior have more interaction with junior through various event the student council conducts.

Admission

Urban design deals with People. Where spaces are part of common mans everyday use. The University was founded by the Pritzker Prize 2018 winner B. V. Doshi, and is top school of planning in India. The admission to the university is purely merit based. 1st we have to apply for the Course and with required documents and fulfilling prerequisite for the course. Then the university scrutiny the application. Once we get selected then the second stage is interview. And then the merit list.

Faculty

4.5

Being in at post graduate level the lectures are qualitative than the quantitative. The faculty is mostly PhD holders for theory clases. And with minimum experience of 5 years of professional practice. There is one faculty per 12 students. And a program chair who look up to whole batch. With a teaching assistant for the help to the faculty.

Placement Experience:

Before the placements after the completion of the second semester, students can also do their optional internship. But over the years the students have found these internships very beneficial and the committees help the students to get through the placements as much as possible. Once the students have completed their third semester the placement procedure begins. The placement is well coordinated by the placement committee where reputed firms be a part of this process. During my batch, 95% of the transport students got placed. The ones who did not get placed were by choice as they had their commitments. The highest package offered was around 8 lakh per annum.
