Remarks

Pros- Student friendly, reasonable fee structure, healthy environment and good staff support. Cons - campus is too small to accomodate all the students and parking is always an issue.

Entrance Preview

I came through KCET. It is through online seat allotment made by the government. I secured 620 KCET state medical ranking . I opted for this college for 2 reasons- central government college and its near my home .

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum comes under RGUHS University. So it's the same curriculum through out the state. The syllabus is good interms of knowledge and research. Though there is no compulsion in the curriculum for research but it sheds enough light on the subject for the interested students.

Internships Opportunities

Yes it does. It's compulsory to get the certified degree. It's almost for about an year. 19k is the salary per month . Lots of cases can be studied in detail in this internship time and its really helpful.

Placement Experience

3.5

Since this is medical college , there's no as such placements. Bt we have signed a bond for 5yrs in which we can be placed anywhere in India. And also the pay will be good since it's central government pay. However one should be ready to travel anywhere they are posted.

College Events

3.5

There will be lots of functions going on throughout the year. Cultural fest, sports day, teachers day, holi, Onam celebration, Ganesha chaturthi celebration are a few to name. However the UG college is new so the funds are yet to be released. So we pool the money from Students n staff to organise various events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It's very much reasonable since it's government institute. We are paying 29k per annum in which 5k is refundable. Though from this year 2017-18 , the fee is increased to 1lakh per annum. Stil compared to other private colleges, the fee is quite less and is quite affordable.

Fees and Financial Aid

As such there's no scholarship given from the institute. If you are an merit student you'll get many scholarships from various government n NGOs.

Campus Life

3

Girs to boys ratio is around 6:4. College is very tolerant towards all gender, caste, religion and culture so no need to worry about that aspect. Evrybody is welcomed in open arms. There will be lots debates and quiz going on about various subjects throughout the year.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There's no student canteen. There's one canteen in which patients are always overcrowded. I am a localities but the hostel and washroom facilities are above average. 1 room is shared by 3 students. Mess is run by students itself and I have heard the food is pathetic.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are helpful interms of guiding which book to buy and how to go about the subject. They are very friendly and helpful. They guide you what to study and what not to study.

Exam Structure

The exams, internals and practicals are pretty hectic. Bt then it greatly depends on how much cool head you have and everyday you study or you are the last minute bird. But it's not too hectic also. There is sufficient time for evrything. It's always better to finish that days portion on the same day.

Admission

I secured 620 KCET state medical ranking . It is exclusively online allotment and there are no offline admissions. Only merit seats are there and no donation seats. There will be various mock and real allotments taking place through scheduled dates and you get admitted respectively to your merit. Rest all detailed information is in kea official website .

Faculty

4

The faculty is very good since they are appointed from central government. Hence their merit and experience is well considered. As everywhere there are few spoilt sport here also which can be merely ignored. In general the teaching is good and the staff are pretty friendly

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very comprehensive and relevant for exams but not for real world applications. I feel let the parts of body I was specially fascinating so I like anatomy very much and we also got a very good teacher, the curriculum is very good for examinations however the real wall applications of this curriculum is very little, they should be more real life applications and whatever the latest technology than studies are happening the student should get the latest info about them, timing between two exams in an internal semester should be a little more such as a day or two because we do not get time to prepare the subjects curriculum very well for the examination.

Same curriculum as the NMC is followed . In the beginning ears there wont be much exposure clinically like any other hospitals later on in 3rd amd 4th year there is more clinical exposure and patient interaction. According to me the exam level of 1st year is a bit tough as it is a changing phase from 12th to college and everything is new later on we get adjusted and find it easy and will understand how to phase the exam and how it is different from the previous exams of 11th or 12th . Only one exam will be for a academic year which includes the whole syllabus of that year
