Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose this course because I had interst in this particular domain. The faculty:student ratio was decent. The qualification of the faculty was very good, with majourity of them having PhD. Some even had post PhD. All of them had their degrees from reputed indian and foreign universities. Some of the professor had more than 5000 citations, and were one of the best researcher in their field of study. The teaching method varied greatly from faculty to faculty. Most of them were sincere and took daily classes. They even share their hand-written notes and discuss important questions from exam perspective. In a semester, we had 2 exams for each subject - Mid-term exams and End-term exams. The exams were quite difficult and you need high level of dedication and preparation if you are aiming for 9+ CGPA.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Bajaj Auto came for internship. It offered 30k as stipend. In the internship, you get to experience different departments of the company, mainly operation and production unit. In the end, you have to make a project, suggesting some innovation or improvising existing system.

Placement Experience

4.5

From 7th semester onwards, students are eligable for campus placement. Various top names come to our campus to hire. It includes big names like Google, Apple, Microsoft, Adobe, Samsung, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, BCG, PwC, Bain, Accenture, Delloite, HCL, Barclays, JP Morgan, KPMG, Bajaj, JCB, Siemens, Hero, Exonn Mobill, Reliance and many more. In my batch, more than 80% students were placed. Rest of them went for higher studies or preparing for goverment exams like UPSC.

Fees and Financial Aid

When I joined, the fees was around 1.8 lakhs per year (Hostel fees excluded). Every year, the fees increased about around 10%. There were multiple scholarship available. Additionally, you were eligable for fees relaxation/concession if you belonged to SC/ST/OBC/EWS category.

Campus Life

5

We had ENGIFEST (Cultural Fest), YUVAAN (Literature Fest), AAHVAAN (Sports Fest) and INVICTUS (Tech Fest). ENGIFEST is the biggest fest in North India, 3 days of absolute fun and entertainment. All these fests are held between the month of January and March. Talking about our library, it was a gem. If you dig well, you can find very high quality technical books. In addition, there is a system of book bank, where you can borrow course related books for a whole semester. Excellent facilities for sports and amble opportunities to showcase your talent. There are plenty of societies to engage yourselve. Almost all these societies are run by student only. Apart from this, there are many student-led tech teams, building formula 1, UAVs, AUVs, Mars rover, Off-road vehicle, Robots etc.

Admission

The admission process was smooth. I went through JAC (Joint Admission Counselling), where you fill in your preferred course option in a sequential order from most preferred to least. 4 rounds + 2 spot rounds takes place and based upon rank and demand, you will start moving up the order towards your most preferred course. Everyone who had Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subject for 12th boards and has scored more than 75% overall was eligable for the course. Everything is available on DTUs official website regarding application fees, course fees, hostel fees, application dates etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
