Remarks

Overall I will give 8 out of 10 to the College and there are still many places where the college can improve on. The management has to a little un-biased and should start spending much more on the development of the college. They should fund the Projects and help students to reach out to the industries for help.

Entrance Preview

I took ( JEE MAINS, BITSAT , VITEEE, COMEDK) and out of all these I secured a decent rank in comedk (2164) and in the rest I was not able to get a good score. So during my councelling round I opted for MSRIT college as I wanted to take Mechanical Engineering and this college is considered as the best in karnataka for my discipline .

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course Curriculum is still old and has not been revised for a long period of time but it is improving day by day. As this college is autonomous so it enjoys an advantage over the other colleges where it can design the entire curriculum on its own and conduct all its exams independently but still the degree certificate will be provided by the VTU university. Also it gives you a lot of choices on Electives during your 5th and 7th semester , you can even take up electives of other branches.

Internships Opportunities

Yes the college gives opportunity for internship but for only those who are among the top 5 students. This year it gave an opportunity for Internship in the Boeing where 4 students got the internship and the stipent provided was 35000 for a month.

Placement Experience

4

Placement and Job opportunities are great here for Computer science and information science engineering Department also every day companies visit the college campus and in all total offers made to the CS and IS students were 134 and 148 respectively in the year 2016. Almost all the I.T companies visit the campus including (Amazon, Microsoft, Wipro, Accenture , Infosys , Cognizant , Jp morgan, Emphasis, Goldman Sachs, ITC, Mahindra and mahindra, Alstom, Atos,Aricent,Mu Sigma, Impact Big Data and many more) offering packages as high as 25 CTC. For all of the other branches the competition is very high but in all abve 90% of students are placed every year.

College Events

4.5

We celebrate our annual cultural fest which is called UDBHAV and then there are many clubs like IEEE, EDC, NSS. the IEEE department does a tech fest called Pragati then each year the College celebrates the Kannada Rajyotsav . Every year there is a wekk celebrated in college called the Entrepreneurial Week.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is based on the type of admission like the ones who entered through Comedk quota are required to pay ₹150000 per year as the College fees the pnes who entered under the CET quota are required to pay 45000 per year and the ones from the management quota are required to pay 150000 inr per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are available but only for the minority caste and for those who has a very good academic performance.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is excellent in this College as you get to meet a lot of people from different backgrounds of the country . Also the debate society of this college is the best in Karnataka called the Debsoc which participates in a lot of international competitions. Every year we have an inter college and intra college sports tournament and our basketball team is the best in Karnataka. We are free to register for any competition and the college provides the basic rooms and facilities for working. The labs are above average and well maintained and you get a lot of help through it.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facilities are decent as I myself live in the hostel we have many rooms with attached bathroom the mess food is not very good and can be improved a lot. There are rooms which are shared by 2 people and the hostel fees varies like for the ones living in a room with a attached bathroom has to pay 69000 per year while the others are required to pay 62 thousand per year . There are single rooms which has a rent of 73000 per year.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not so strong but you do get the advantage of it during your final year project where the top projects from the college are funded by the alumni.

Exam Structure

Talking of the Exams we have 2 basic main structures . 1. Cumulative Exams (50 marks) 2. Final exams.(50 marks) 1. We have 3 internal exams every 1 months and out of this 3 best 2 are taken and their average is done so this part consist of 30 marks the remaining 20 marks comes from assignments which we are required to submit during the semester (it may include open and close book test ) 2. The final exam's of 100 marks which is later converted to 50 marks and then added to the cie marks to make a complete total of 100 marks.

Admission

At first after getting my rank in Comedk entrance exam I went for the councelling which was held in bangalore. Later in the councelling process we were all divided on the basis of our ranks and all were given equal oppournity to choose their college and branch of preference after selecting MSRIT I went to the College itself where I submitted my Comedk Scorecard and my councelling choise then I was supposed to fill an online application form in the college itself which consisted about my basic details later I submitted the fees and got a registration form form as a proof of admission.

Faculty

4

Faculty are on average leaving out on some most of them know what they are teaching and even take interest in the subject remaining every branches has some teachers who are not able to teach and needs urgent attention. In my department we have over 30 faculties and all are qualified above M.Tech many of them have completed their PHD and some are still pursuing it.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
