My 1st year at IIM Sirmaur

The faculty at IIM Sirmaur has recently been boosted with many international faculties and also from some of the bigger institutes of the country like the BLACKIs. The quality of the faculty is definitely on the up and up.

I had a great opportunity for internships, after getting placed at the beginning of the season itself. This helped reduce the pressure of enduring the entire grill of the placements process which can at times demotivating.

Placements at IIM Sirmaur are a rolling process that begins a month or so after joining the campus. It is completed and conducted by the student-run Placement Committee which provides assistance to all students to ensure 100% placements.

The fee structure at IIM Sirmaur is the lowest among all IIMs and most B-Schools at 13.75 Lakhs. And with a growing CTC of 12.75 Lakhs, the Return on Investment is very solid. Apart from this, there are scholarships offered for the top academic performers in the academic year.

Campus life is hectic from the very get-go. Academic pressures are only exacerbated by pressures to join Clubs and Committees, get CV pointers, parties, trips, and so on. There is never a boring day at IIM Sirmaur.

My process began around 4-6 months before November 2021, with preparation for the CAT exam, which is a mandatory requirement for applying to all IIMs. Then after registering for the Common Admissions Process which was conducted by Trichy that year, I appeared for the personal interviews (PIs). Following the PIs, the shortlists came around a month afterward.
