Course Curriculum Overview
The course I choose was Bcom accounting and finance. I opted for it because I liked accounts very much and my knowledge of accounts is very sharp. The faculty at Pillai college of arts commerce and science, new Panvel is excellent and outstanding. They are well qualified in their prospect and also have a good student-teacher relationship as they are very approachable and understanding. The exams conducted in our college is 2 unit test of 20 marks each and a 2-semester exam of 60 marks each. It is conducted timely and the difficulty of the exam is now there because our teachers make us prepare in the college itself and it's just to revise at home. We can be 75% prepared in the college lectures itself.
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunity available in our college is very high. As I belong from the accounts field, we do get internship opportunities from the CA firms which can be paid or unpaid. If it is paid the fresher internship stipend can be from 5000 to 20,000 max.
Placement Experience
After semester 4, students become eligible for campus placement. Many companies send their job vacancies to the college where the college provides placement opportunities to students eligible for it through the placement cell of the college. The companies can also provide an annual package as highest as 7-8 L per annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is very economical. It hikes up but to a proper and minimum limit. The fees are different for all the courses available in the college. Being a student in accounts and finance, our fees are around 30,000 per year and it is worth it as per the academic facility and environment we students get.
Campus Life
The annual fest conducted in Pillai college of arts commerce and science, new panvel is called the ALEGRIA fest, which is a fantastic event in the whole of Mumbai. It is conducted around February. The books and journals are properly arranged, managed and available in the college library and have the best material for the students to study as per their related courses. The classrooms are tidy. It has good lighting and ventilation. Also, we have a virtual display and proper environment to study.
Admission
The admission process was very simple and fair. We just need to have proper documents for admission, also can get the form offline and fill it out and wait for the list to appear. there was no entrance exam.
