Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The IT department is one of the best departments in our college. The teachers/seniors of our department are very accommodating. The number of students enrolled in this course is limited. The faculty/Student ratio is around 1:25 in the IT department. Most faculties are PhD holders and the rest are post-graduated in their respective fields. The teaching methods are unique and equipped with resources. The exam was fairly difficult. Teachers had covered almost all of the syllabi in the assignments and case study so the exams were not so difficult to crack. The college-given books and Akash modules were also of great help during the exams.

Internships Opportunities

5

Nagarro, IHS Markit, ZS campus Beats, IBM, WAC, Amazon, ECOM, and OutBuds were a few companies which provided paid internships role to students. SDE, Fronted, and backend roles were given by these companies. Projects of MERN, FullStack, and DevOps were used by many students to get these roles.

Placement Experience

4

After the 4th Semester students are given internship opportunities from different companies. The placement of this college is almost 95% with avg package of 8.5 Lakhs. The highest package given in 2022 was rs 40 lakhs per annum to 4 students in Microsoft. Companies like ZCS, TCS, and TCS Ninja also provide campus placements to students. Also, the Nasscom Incubation cell supports various students in their startup journey by providing mentors, space and correct guidance to success.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees here are high for a middle-class family but low compared to other engineering colleges in Delhi. The fees include the exam / admit card charges, and library/Book Bank charges as well. For a student with an annual family salary of less than 3,00,000. the scholarship is provided for up to rs 60,000 per year. Internships offers and opportunities regarding industrial training are given to students after the 4th Semester during summer break. In this period, you can choose either to do training from the college or do any Internship and marks will be awarded according to the performance of a student.

Campus Life

5

Life here on campus is good, though not great. The campus is not as big as compared to some of the other IPU colleges. Canteen Area is awesome with various dishes/items made available every day. the mess facility is also good here for the hostel and pg students. The library area is one of my favourites as the peace around it is really captivating. Though the books in the library are limited, most of the students go there to do self-study or practice their coding skills. Also, many rooms are allotted to students for specific interaction purposes for society meets and announcements. The sports playground is not too great as students are allowed in that region only after 4 pm. Volleyball, Table tennis, Chess, football and cricket facilities are available. The societies of our college are the main source of entertainment for students. They provide exposure to Seniors, fun events as well as educational sessions.

Admission

Admission here is granted on the basis of your JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) score. The avg rank in JEE of a student here in the IT department is 65,000 - 85,000. For the CSE branch, a rank of 50,000-65,000 is enough for admission. This college is affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and the form filling regarding admission is filled out from the university website: www.ipu.ac.in Around 85 % of seats are reserved for Delhi region students, and the rest are for All India level students. Also, SC/ ST/ OBC category reservations are available here. I personally didn't avail of any reservation benefits. The admission process here was very smooth with all the staff and admin department helping the new students. Although I believe this all information should be included on the website of the university as well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Choosing a B.Tech in Computer Science stems from a strong interest in technology. The coursd curriculam is appealing due to its well-rounded structure, covering a wide range of computer science topics like Artificial Intelligence. The flexibility to choose elective courses aligns with personal interests. The faculty, recruited through a rigorous process, is well-qualified. They use various teaching methods, including lectures and practical activities. While the faculty-to-student ratio is good, seeking feedback from students can provide insights into teaching styles. Exams occur every 2.5 months, balancing mid and end-semester assessments. The weightage distribution between exams and internal assessments is favorable, allowing a holistic evaluation. The exams are described as moderately difficult, striking a balance for student success.

Here placement is average as many opt for higher studies the reason behind this is maybe because only a few companies visit. In which TCS is a mass recruiter. The average package here is 3-4 lakh per annum and the highest goes up to 6lakhs per annum. Here placement ratio is about 50%. I will also opt for higher studies after getting a degree
