Likes

the campus have so much open area , so we feel touch to nature not like a city.
Placement ratio and average package is very good for my collage.
All types are available for research and for exploring different things.

Dislikes

The campus is developing thats why so many lab are under construction.
Cafetria area is small and new cafeteria is not available till now.
College have two campus main and transit , so for some lab we go for transit campus.

I choose computer science course because I have interest in this course. As all know IIT has a very good academic and campus life. All the professors have so much knowledge and qualifications and the faculty and student ratio is also high.

Internships Opportunities

So, many big M&C companies are coming for campus internships like Microsoft, Flipkart, Amazon, oracle, etc., and a high stipend is given to students for 0 days internship an average of 1 lakh stipend.

Placement Experience

For 5th sem. students can apply for internships through exams and interviews conducted by companies. The highest and average package offers are 70 lakhs and 18 lakhs respectively. Colleges have approx. 90 to 98 percent of students placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Firstly tuition fees are divided into 3 categories according to family income. 107150 per sem, whose family income is above 5 lakh. 40484 per sem, whose family income is between 1 and 5 lakh. 7150 per sem, whose family income is below 1 lakh. The hostel fee is 1500 per sem and the mess has a daily fee coupon which price is 130/day. The above tuition fees are for gen. and obc students.

Campus Life

The fest is divided into 3 categories: cultural, techno, and sports, and their names are Zeitgeist, Advitya, and Aarohan respectively. The campus has a big library that has a variety of books from different fields and the library, the building has a high capacity for students to study and for group discussion areas. The campus has a large sports complex for all sports and the ground has proper lighting for practicing at night. The college has so many clubs which include sports, dance, painting, photography, etc. for extracurricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

In the hostel, for 1st and 2nd-year students rooms are provided for 2 students in each room. and further single rooms are given to students. Each room has a fan, almirah, bed, and a router for Wi-Fi or Lan port. The hostel has a common bathroom that has a geyser. The mess food quality is good and the campus has 2 messes common for boys and girls.

Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year

Admission

The student must come from the non-medical stream. Entrance to the college through an entrance exam JEE, which is conducted by NTA. It is conducted in 2 phases, 1st is JEE Main which is for NIT and 2nd round is for IIT which is JEE Advance. The benefits of reservations are: at the time of selecting the college through category rank, Students who have an annual income below 1lakh get 100% scholarship in tuition fees.

supportive campus environment with the comfortable in the classess
faculty most faculty members are very much supportive and they guide the students in the right way only
events are there in the campus provided by the campus.

Dislikes

limited practical exposure is provided by the campus and also there should be more hand on international events
infrastructure is not that good , as they were should on the online it is dii
Placement cell provides opportunities but the stronger industry connections.

placements at my college are very very good, as everybody gets the chance to sit for the placements at the same level. we get the placement oportunities at the 6th semster also. in my brancg it is very good

A Vibrant Campus with good learning and great opportunities

Likes

good infrastructure , large libraries and practical labs
helpful and large opportunities in campus

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

The curriculum is relevant and covers core cse subjects like programing DSA and DBMS . it provides good fundamental for placements and further studies , more practical projects and industry based teaching would improve it .

75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time
Placement is decent and average as like other collage

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The best out of best about iit ropar

I applied to iit gandhinagar electrical engineering and got rejected as my jee advanced rank was not as par as required to take the course.the admission process of our college is based on an examination called jee advanced and if u get a good rank and pass that examination u can enter our college.i also applied for iit hyd,iit jodhpur etc in which I have got an admission in another branch as I said earlier as I like the electrical engineering branch I joined iit ropar .or college might be worst in sports in comparison to other iits but they are always better than other iits in reasearch orientation side...Read More
