Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Software Engineering Course at DTU is one of the four computer courses but I chose this because it is recent and its syllabus is quite updated and modified compared to others like CSE and IT whose syllabus is decades older. In our first year, each class has a strength of 75 students approximately but in the second year software engineering batch has 100 students in a batch. The faculty here are extremely well qualified from various big universities and have written research papers some of them have written books which are popular like the HC Taneja is our faculty and he has written maths books which are very popular and many more. The teaching methods depend on some teachers are good. Exams are conducted on time with full strictness and are comparatively easier to pass even if you just study one day for each subject then you will just get passing marks.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internships are also available for the students after 4th semester and big companies like sprinkler, Microsoft, and Amazon take students for internships for SDE roles, The stipends are too good for the internships ranging to 2lakhs+ per month from companies like Twitter and sprinkler and many companies who offer more than 1 lakh for internships and if you perform very well at the internships then you get a chance to get PPO which is a pre-placement offer from the companies which is a boon.

Placement Experience

5

From the 6th sem onwards students are eligible for placements but for internships after the 4th sem only they can apply. This college has a superb history of placements where 385+ companies visit and hire a lot of students even the topnotch companies like Microsoft, adobe, amazon, Delloite, google, Paytm, Myntra, Flipkart, Uber, and many more and they make 2400+ offers for students. The highest placement is 1.2 crores in amazon internationally and the domestic highest is around 64lpa in apple and average placements in dtu are around 12-13 lpa but for my branch of software engineering average placement is 18-19 LPA. In my branch of software engineering 98-99, students get placed or you can say 100% get placed but some of them go for higher education or in other domains which is why it is 98 or 99%. I plan to get into a good company and earn a good living.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of DTU keep hiking every year but in my case, for the first year it was 2,06,000 and for the second year I paid 2,19,000 and I am availing a student education loan from the SBI bank which is inside the DTU campus only at a 7.65% interest rate and you have to start paying the loan amount only after 5 years no need to pay anything now. This year the fees had a hike of around 10k for a year in first-year fees. apart from the fees I have rented a flat nearby dtu as my home is quite far and I dint get a hostel so my monthly expenses apart from studies are 15k including rent electricity water all time meals and some miscellaneous expenses which total around 1.8 lakhs a year. so my total expenses are approx. 4 lakhs per year. it is quite high compared to many other courses and all but also low if compared to IIITD or BITS Pilani where per year fees are 4lakhs+.

Campus Life

4.5

The social life is very good in college it does organize superb fests like Engifest, YUVAAN FEST, E SUMMIT, and many more technical and other fests, and its a lot of fun, and most of the fests are conducted in February itself. The library is a plus point for DTU because the books suggested for us in the course are available in the library but students generally issue the books at the beginning so you need to issue them at the beginning of the sem. Different kinds of the classrooms are there (SPS Pragya Bhawan and Departments classrooms) but all have AC and are properly ventilated with good lighting conditions and enough space for students to sit. The sports ground is too good it has an indoor badminton court tt court even pool tables and has a football ground cricket pitch basketball court lawn tennis court outdoor badminton court volleyball ground kabaddi dedicated ground and arenas are organized every year.

Admission

For admission in DTU JEE Main is considered as the entrance test. So from the beginning firstly we need to prepare for JEE Main exams in our classes 11 and 12th and then appear in the JEE examinations which were conducted four times in 2021(my batch) then the results come out which provides us with our rank as well as percentile my rank was 64588 and my percentile was 92.9 percentile and I had obc quota. after the results come out the JAC Delhi counselling begins where you need to sign in and submit all the documents like your class 10th and 12th mark sheets, your category certificates like OBC in my case and other documents like jee rank, and cancelled Cheque. Once you have filled out the jac forms then the counselling begins which happens in multiple rounds each round gives a new cutoff and if your rank is under the cutoff then they ask you to pay around 1.2 lakhs to secure your seat. In my case, I got DTU SE in the second round and paid the amount then after all the rounds ended document verification occurs and don

Other Applied Colleges

Netaji Subhas University of Technology - [NSUT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Engineering)

Because DTU is comparatively chill and supporting in most cases compared to NSUT which is very very strict plus DTU has a big advantage in campus it has a big beautiful campus with too good sports facilities available compared to NSUT thats why

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good. I do not feel very pressure. The course curriculum is design by GGSIPU. There is not spefific reason to choose to this course. It was my childhood dream to become computer engineer. I cant say that the curriculum prepares for real world applications because I am just second year students. The exam conducted on semester basis and its not very difficult.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Jamia Millia Islamia are not too high or too low and depend on the branch. Students can apply for placements starting from their 7th semester. Big companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and some startups come to recruit. The average salary offered is between 7 to 8 lakhs per year, but there are not many students who get higher packages. About 40 to 60 percent of students get placed. Many students also work on getting into higher studies or look for jobs outside the campus after they finish their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.
