Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choose this course because it suited my skills as I am a research student and I had done my research project in mtech on Thermoelectric materials. So, I choose this course to live my interest and make it a career in the future. At IIT Delhi, the faculty: student ratio is 1:15. They are all Ph.D. holders. 95% of them have done many post-docs. Also, many professors have acquired their degrees from top foreign countries. Their teaching method is very unique. They focus on understanding the concepts more than just learning the things. Term exams occur in 4 months (2 term exams in 4 months: minor and major). The difficulty level is moderate.

Fees and Financial Aid

I believe that fee hikes should not be there because research students can't afford much of it with the small scholarship they avail. Last year, the M. Tech fee was hiked to 42000 rs per semester. And their scholarship is just 12400 per month. So, it becomes very difficult for them to do this course. It is just wasting talent. I did mtech here at IIT Delhi from 2020 - 2022. Did I get mtech fellowship here at 12400 p.m. Now, I am doing my Ph.D. at IIT Delhi from 2022 - contd. I get an institute fellowship here of 31,000. p.m.

Campus Life

5

Rendezvous, tryst. They occur in March month. At IIT Delhi, all kinds of books and journals are available. The classrooms are equipped with central AC, a projector, big teaching boards, a large number of seats, a podium, and mic, a well-cleaned hall for teaching, etc. IIT Delhi is also known for its extracurricular activities such as dance, singing, and sports. Every year there is a sports festival in which different institutes participate all over India such as IITs, IISERs, IISC, etc. Every kind of sport is played here such as Cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, badminton, kabaddi, etc.

Admission

An interview must be there to check the right skill in the student rather than just merit. Cut-off must be decreased and interviews must be increased so as to choose the right candidates. There must also the recordings of the offline lectures so that the students may have the access to those lectures for a lifetime. For Ph.D. students, the time should be bounded/fixed from 9 am to 5 pm. Professors should not force them to work beyond this time because students have also their social and personal life.
