Course Curriculum Overview
I choose Production and Industrial engineering which is under the Mechanical dept. , the course curriculum is pretty decent it is not that hard but it requires time. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:15. The faculties are well proficient in their field, and many have PhD from Ivy League. Exams are held regularly at appropriate gaps, exams are often challenging as averages go low.
Internships Opportunities
Most big companies come for internships like jane street, ola, uber, zomato etc. They can range from as big as 15 lahks to a few thousand. Internship stats are not as good as placement stats as around half the people get internships.
Placement Experience
Placement opportunities are pretty great here. big companies like Microsoft, google, amazon, Morgan Stanley, jane street etc come. Most of the people get placed. The range of packages varies from 3-5 crores to very modest packages like 10 lakhs per annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is approximately 230000 per annum. There are many scholarship opportunities available like the Dalmia scholarship, Aditya Birla etc. for people with less than 9 lakh income and many more for people with less than 5 lakh annual income.
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty great. The rendezvous four-day annual fest has celebrities like Sunidhi Chauhan, benny dayal and many more. The Tech fest is Tryst which is pretty awesome as well. They both happen in March or April approximately.
Admission
To get admission to the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi(IIT D) first we have to give JEE Mains paper in which you have to qualify for JEE advanced. Then having a good rank in JEE advanced is a necessity. The forms for these exams are available on jeeadv.ac.in & also there is a 75% mark in the board's criteria for admission to IITD. The form fee is currently 2900. People definitely get the benefits of reservations for admission in my branch general cut-off was around 3300 rank but people with reservations got admission even with ranks like 9000, so yes it is helpful for people with reservations. After clearing the exam we have to get the documents verified in offline mode which includes many important documents like 10th, and 12th class certificates, admit cards for jee mains and jee advanced papers, jee results, any caste certificate if applicable, parents' income certificate, medical certificates too which should be recent etc.
