Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum isn't the best as it doesn't provide enough flexibility in choosing your courses. The faculty for my department is significantly better than others, however, there are still a few professors that I would rather want to be replaced. The faculty-student ratio is pretty low. It is pretty easy to pass a course but difficult to maintain a high GPA.

Class Size: 150Course Fees: INR 238000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There are many companies which offer interns, some giving 50000 per month while others pay as high as 20L per month. There are also projects you can do under professors if you do not get an internship.

Placement Experience

The placements in my college are pretty decent. Students can only get placements in the last year. There are many companies with packages in the range of 6L to 3Crs. Almost all students get a placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees aren't that high compared to other private colleges as it is government funded. There are many scholarships, especially to meritorious students provided and financial assistance in the form of loans is also readily available.

Campus Life

The social life on the campus is pretty mediocre. The annual tech fest, tryst and annual fest rendezvous aren't anything special. Except for the library, another infrastructure is kind of lacking. The clubs are also pretty inactive. Sports are fine mostly.

Hostel Facilities

The rooms are pretty small with minimal storage and a single bed along with a desk. The food is decent but kind of costly. The registration process is also complicated, although that is to be expected. Overall the hostels are livable but not comfortable.

Hostel Fee: INR 60000 per year

Admission

For admission, I gave JEE Mains and advanced, You are eligible for these exams if you have at least 75% marks in your board exam. For my course, you needed to be in the top 200 in the JeE advanced exam. The application fee is approximately 3000rs. The dates are usually sometime in June every year. The admission process can be improved if the questions were easier.

From Classrooms to Campus ; my dtu journey

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

NIT Delhi: A Balanced Blend of Academics, Opportunities, and Campus Life

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Great Placements but Campus needs improvements

Placement Experience:

After 3rd year students become eligible for campus placements. Almost 90% students gets placed. The top companies are Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Google and Adobe. The highest package is 53 lacks and the average package is 20 lacs. I plan to become a software engineer after i complete my course or study further.

A decent college

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Students get hired, obviously, and they get a decent package. Highest package from our college is 52 LPA. Average package is 7-8 LPA. Highest package off campus is 1.2 Cr. Per annum.
