Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is under the cbcs model or choice-based course registration model which provides more flexibility to choose subjects according to interests. The courses for the first year are common for all. Overall the faculty is satisfactory.

Placement Experience

Students become eligible for placements in the 6th semester when the companies start coming. There are a lot of companies coming with overall 85-90% placement overall. In the mechanical department, the average package of 2023 placement in 9 lacs and the highest is in Oracle with 18 lac CTC. In mech, almost 90% of students got placed.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are around 4lakh per year including everything like hostel, mess, etc. The fees increase by 10% every year. There are scholarship opportunities for students on the basis of merit as well as on the basis of income. Placements are overall satisfactory in the college

Campus Life

The social life is good in college. There is an annual fest Bitotsav in which people come from many colleges to attend and many famous people come to perform. The name of the tech fest is pantheon which is the best in Jharkhand. There are a lot of books available in the library but the library is not open 24 hours a day. The classrooms are air-conditioned and many sports facilities are also available. The club culture in bit mesra is great there is a lot of competition for joining elite clubs

Hostel Facilities

First years have double shared rooms and then from the second year, we have single rooms. The rooms don't have almirahs but they have racks to keep your things. The food quality in the mess is overall satisfactory. The students make the menu for the mess.

Hostel Fee: INR 38000 per year

Admission

Admission to this college is on the basis of jee mains score through josaa counselling. Eligibility for this course is that you must have physics, chemistry and mathematics in your class 12th. Overall the admission process was smooth

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. Luckily we are less in numbers and therefore 90% students from our batch were placed from here. My plans after getting the degree is to pursue masters from US.

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
