Course Curriculum Overview

I filled in the preferences in the order of my area of interest. I was allotted my branch on the basis of the availability of seats, which were allotted according to ranks everyone got in JEE Advanced exam. Faculty: Student ratio varies from 1:60 in some courses to 1:120 in other courses. Teachers have deep knowledge and rich experience in their field of teaching. Most of them have done PHDs and MTechs from foreign universities. There are 2 minor exams and 1 major exam every semester and most of the students start their preparation 1 week before the exam. Each semester is of 4-5 months and hence the frequency varies each semester.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 238000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internships are for third-year students. Many companies visit the campus ranging from different domains (Core, IT, Consulting). Students also have the option of having a project under a professor in the field of their choice.

Placement Experience

The semester placements start after the 6th semester. All the students are eligible for sitting through the placement process. Many companies visit the campus ranging from different domains (IT, Consulting, Core).

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fees are increased by an amount every semester. The fees are different for MTech, Btech, and Ph.D. students. There are scholarships for different people on basis of academic/extracurricular/ sports excellence. There are separate merit awards for department toppers every semester who having high CGPAs in their department.

Campus Life

Many fests is organized around the year. Rendezvous, Tryst, Kaizen are some of the big names. RDV is the cultural fest, while Tryst is the technical fest of IIT Delhi. Both are organized in the month of March. The library at IIT Delhi is full of academic books and journals.

Admission

Admission is done on the basis of merit, through JEE Advanced. Minimum eligibility is 75% in the 12th class. The primary stage is JEE Mains, which is conducted by NTA. Seats are reserved for OBCs, SCs, STs, and Physically Challenged candidates. Seats are reserved for girl candidates.

From Classrooms to Campus ; my dtu journey

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum at DTU is quite relevant and comprehensive. The reason I chose this course was the mix of strong fundamentals in the first year—like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming—followed by department-specific core and elective courses that allow some flexibility and specialization. The curriculum gives a solid foundation for both real-world applications and further studies, especially through hands-on projects and lab work. That said, some areas could be improved, like including more industry exposure, internships, and practical case studies to bridge theory and real-world problems. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-terms and end-terms) and include assignments and projects as part of evaluation. While most exams are manageable if you keep up with the coursework, a few subjects can be challenging, and preparation is key to avoid surprises.

NIT Delhi: A Balanced Blend of Academics, Opportunities, and Campus Life

Placement Experience:

The annual placements at NIT Delhi are consistently getting better year by year where the top branches such as CSE, ECE, and IT are leading the way with their strong placement rates. Many students get hired at very attractive salaries by well-established companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Amazon. For example, the CTC of the best offers have reached as high as ?15–20 LPA in some instances. The Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches also contribute to the university’s overall placement record to some extent. Those students usually boost the available opportunities for themselves by taking up internships and off-campus offers. Moreover, the students who fail to get a job on the campus can still benefit out of the college atmosphere where the strong basics of coding, projects, and practical skills are taught which makes the students quite employable at startups, off-campus, or even when going for higher studies like M.Tech/GATE/abroad. To sum up, NIT Delhi is a very solid foundation for the students whether they want to have a career or continue with their education.

Great Placements but Campus needs improvements

Placement Experience:

After 3rd year students become eligible for campus placements. Almost 90% students gets placed. The top companies are Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Google and Adobe. The highest package is 53 lacks and the average package is 20 lacs. I plan to become a software engineer after i complete my course or study further.

A decent college

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Students get hired, obviously, and they get a decent package. Highest package from our college is 52 LPA. Average package is 7-8 LPA. Highest package off campus is 1.2 Cr. Per annum.

IIT Delhi is close to my hometown and is ranked no. 2. It offers best faculty in Chemical engineering. IIT Bombay was rejected because of inability of getting a good branch there. Firstly, IIT Delhi is a platform fromWhere you can achieve anything be it High salary, entrepreneurship, research and higher education, civil services, and what not to mention. We have Indias best labs in educational institutions and we are not limited to the discipline we choose, a physics student can do research in biology or a mechanical student can sit in coding interviews.
