Genuine Review of IIT Madras

I have more interest in this course and I had a strong grip on the basics of this course. There a 600 faculty and 10000 students in our institute. If we talk about the ratio there are 6 faculty for 100 students. You must do Ph.D. to get selected for faculty. There are two quizzes, one mid-sem and one end-sem examination per semester.

Around 250 companies are visiting for an internship like amazon, google, uber, and many more. The roles they offered are software developer, consultant, ML engineer, product manager, etc. Tier 1 companies provide more than 1L stipend per month.

From the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. There are around 500 companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, shell, Schlumberger, etc. visit every year and they made a total offer of around 1500. In 2022, the average package was around 21 LPA. After getting my degree, my dream is to become a software developer.

Hostel fees are the same for every category of students and it is about 60000 per year. Semester fees for general category students are about 2.4 Lakhs and for SC/ST it is about 16000 per year. Students can get educational loans easily upto 10 Lakhs. There are many scholarships in NSP students can apply for one. The scholarship amount is based on the scheme.

There are two main fests one is Saarang which is a cultural fest and one is Shaastra which is a tech fest. Both are conducted in January. And there are many small events conducted throughout the year. There is a central library and an e-library, and you can get any books from there. Classrooms are technology-enhanced and full of AC. Apart from academics, there are many opportunities in sport and culture and there are many clubs for this like NSO(National sports organization), NSS(national service scheme), NCA, and NCC. You can join any one of them. There are many clubs run by students like CFI(Center for innovation), and E-Cell.

The rooms are large enough. It has one bed, one table, one chair, one locker and with good quality fans and lights. The quality of food served in the mess is good but not tasty at all but it is very hygiene. You have to register only once for hostel accommodation in the first year.

You must clear JEE Advanced cut-off marks for this course. You have to visit NTA official website to apply for JEE. For SC and ST students there are 15% and 7.5% of seats are reserved respectively. For PWD students there are 5% of seats are reserved.
