Computer Science and Engineering is the best Course available at IIITG and this Institute provides great Industry Exposure to students by organising various Tech Talks given by some of the Industry Experts. There's a great Faculty: Student ratio at IIITG. All the faculties are PhDs from some of the top universities of the world like UCSB, Monash University and IITs. Faculties are very much knowledgeable here and have a great teaching methodology. Exams are conducted every two months (midsem and endsem) with 3-4 quizzes per semester. Exams are moderately difficult.

Students are eligible to sit in the internship drive from the 5th semester and they can sit for campus placements from the 7th semester. A lot of companies came and they had a total number of 154 offers to 102 students with around 98.04% of students being placed in the CSE department. The highest Package is 61 LPA and the average package is 17 LPA.

The tuition fee is the same for an undergrad for its complete course. However fee hikes after every two batches of the institute, So one should not worry about the fee hike here at the Indian Institute of Information technology Guwahati. There are many scholarships offered to various students at the institute and financial assistance is also given regularly.

The annual Tech fest is called Entropy here students from various other colleges took part in various categories and win prizes worth lakhs. Books and journals are available at the library. The classrooms are very well-furnished and ventilated. Sports fests are conducted every year. Various types of sports facilities are available at IIITG. There are various cultural clubs and social groups which are generally run by students under Faculty's supervision.

The hostel is very well cleaned here with every floor being cleaned every two days. All the rooms are cleaned twice every week. Meal quality is fine with various food items available to eat. Hostels are very much affordable compared to other colleges. The locality is around 1-2km from the college campus.

To get admission into IIITG you have to give Joint Entrance Examination (MAIN) and qualify with good numbers then apply for josaa counselling and select colleges as per your choice and you'll get your college based on the cutoff. Application form generally comes in the month of December for the January attempt of JEE mains and in February for the April attempt. Reservations are given to backward classes and EWS classes no other reservations are available. I don't think any improvement is needed in the admission process.
