Course Curriculum Overview
The course content is very much intense and gives a holistic picture of the business. It is a combination of case-based and pedagogy, and the teaching faculty are accomplished in their own respective fields. There is a good academic and personal life balance, classes in a week can go max upto 15 hrs in total, and you get the weekends free
Internships Opportunities
Summer placements get concluded in record time, and more than 200 companies visit the campus offering the best roles ranging from Consulting, Sales and Marketing, Finance, Operations etc. More information is available on the website
Placement Experience
Till now for our batch summer placements have been concluded, but apart from this, we have lateral and final placements. Summer placements are for summer internships, whereas lateral and finals are for the final job role. All these placements attract around 200+ companies and placements get concluded in record time. 100% placement rate. Other details are mentioned on the website.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are 26.5 lakhs, but student loans are readily available. IIM Bangalore also provides need-based scholarships and has partnered with multiple firms which provide separate scholarships, and hence education is always within the reach of any candidate who wants to pursue education
Campus Life
There are a lot of amenities available including the best sports facilities across all IIMs (swimming, basketball, volleyball, squash, badminton, tennis, etc the list goes on) One of the best libraries I can say has a host of books and access to academic journals Also, there are a lot of fests which happen - Eximius, Vista, Unmaad, Yamini Classrooms are fully equipped with state of the art smart classes and air conditioning, with video conferencing abilities as well
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are great and new accommodations are being built. Single occupancy rooms shared washrooms. The mess food is actually great amongst all IIMs. The PGP, PGPBA and FPM programmes are residential programmes and hence are given accommodation on campus
Admission
The Admission Process is through the CAT exam. Initial shortlisting comes on the basis of CAT scores, 10th, 12th and Grad scores and your work experience (number of years or months worked) There is also a reservation benefit for admissions but I am not eligible for it Any person who is a graduate is eligible for it, and the cutoff is varied and changes every year
Interview Experience
There was no group discussion, instead, we had a Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interviews. Also before this, we had to submit our Statement of Purpose with 2 Letters of Recommendation from our workplace or academic peers/ professors /managers. The basic prep for me included knowledge on my graduation subjects, current affairs, socio-economic topics, my home state and home town history and hobbies
