Course Curriculum Overview
I had some sort of interest in this field so I chose mechanical engineering. The faculties for the branch are renowned. I think the faculty-student ratio can be 40:1. The facilities are Ph.D. in their fields and really helpful. The term exams are of two types i.e., written and practical. Written exams are easy but practical exams are quite challenging.
Internships Opportunities
Forbes marshal, Amazon, itanta, and Kirloskar are some of the mechanical companies which provide various internship opportunities. Cognizant, AutoCAD, and Nvidia are various other branch companies that give the opportunity to all branches' students.
Placement Experience
The college has a dedicated training and placement cell which has the best result so far. In recent years college is more computer-specific which is why IT companies are the main focus of TPO cells. But there are various core companies that provide higher packages as well as career opportunities.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for college are high but the scholarships help a lot. They have given us an option for installments also. One can get internships and make good money from stipends. Overall good support.
Campus Life
The college truly consists of a club culture. In VIT there are 40 clubs that cover all the aspects such as curricular, cocurricular as well as extracurricular. The college has the best fests from various organizing committees which are run by students.
Admission
The admission process was based on mainly two exams i.e., JEE and CET. I cleared my cut-off for mechanical engineering which was 97 percentile in CET. As soon as one completes his/her registration, one can apply through cap rounds. You can get the reservations through the center as well as the state govt for EWS, OBC, SC, ST, TFWS, etc.
Interview Experience
Every semester has a seminar, group discussion, and written test for each and every subject. The topics are subject-specific mainly. But there wasn't any interview or group discussion for the admission.
