Remarks

You have to qualify for the WBJEE entrance examination and have to get at least 60% marks in your board examination. Here you will get reservation benefits for sc, St, gen, obc(A & B), but the reservation benefit is valid for only students of West Bengal. It's a government college so the cutoff will be quite high.

Course Curriculum Overview

I like adventure, so mining gives me that opportunity. Faculties are good but not upto the mark Faculty of higher qualification, everyone has done at least MTECH from IITS and nits. Generally, exams were not that tough if we study hard and calculative then we may achieve good grades.

Internships Opportunities

Every one of our departments gets training and internships opportunity from many known companies like Bccl, ECL etc I have just completed 1st year so I haven't performed any projects or tasks till now after completing 2nd year definitely I will get it.

Placement Experience

From the seventh semester students are eligible for campusing. It's a new department so companies haven't visited yet but the chances of visiting companies in our college are high this year. I am preparing for the gate for doing MTech or applying for PSU's

Fees and Financial Aid

Though it's a government college its fee is quite high, for 4 years of BTech it costs you 1.55 lakh on average. But you get half fee & full fee reduction scheme for limited students and you can also apply for west Bengal government scholarships also.

Campus Life

We have an annual (freshers) fest every year by our engineering department. We have a central library and also departmental libraries. The classroom is big but the number of rooms is less with respect to the no of students and departments. Annual sports are always happening once a year. we have gym( but locked). We have a student activity centre where you can play table tennis. We have heard about many clubs in our university but still haven't seen their coordinating activities.

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.

Reality of IIT KGP

Placement Experience:

Placements depends on your skills Usually there is a compulsory internship at the end of 3rd year If you didnt get it via college you should do it from outside but its compulsory And at the end of 4th year you get placement. Placemeng isnt 100% . If you have the skill you will get placed thats the criteria.many people say you are in IIT your life is sorted .but that aint the reality

Computer faculty is the best ??

Other than dwc, I have applied in various colleges.. like asansol girls college, burdwan women's college, many colleges of Kolkata, durgapur michal Madhusudan college, Durgapur goverment college etc.. I have also given the ug cuet exam.. I only gave admission test in this college, as it was the closest to my home. No i didn't get rejected as I never applied although i did gave the cuet exam and i couldn't qualify. Our college's admission process is quite simple. We had to fill the online form in the college website and then check the merit list and appear in college on the day they mention for document verification .
