Remarks

The admission is done through two modes i.e 60% seats are filled through North East quota and 40% seats are filled through All India JoSAA/CSAB counselling. One has to must appear in JEE Mains to get admission here. NE quota generally starts before so one has to regularly check university website for any update and apply. One can check the cuttoff from CSAB website but having rank below 1 lakh can surely get into a branch here.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Faculty memebers are very qualified since it is a central university. Most of them are having Ph.D degree either from IIT or NIT or foreign university. The academics is bit hectic here so one has to study from the beginning of the sem only. Teaching is like similar to any NIT or IIT.

Internships Opportunities

3

Intership oppurtunity is less here as compared to other colleges but still the college provides students with internship and few company recruit them however one can always try off campus and grab any internship.

Placement Experience

4

The company comes for placement and students get eligible from 7th semester to sit for placement. Most of the tech companies and MnC like Capegimini, Wipro, Cognizant comes for placement. Placement is getting better and post covid many companies like Hashedin, Hexaware, NetCracker also visted. If you are from circuital branch you have good chance of getting placed on campus however many students have gone off campus and have grabbed many much better and high package. Most of the students in core are either preaparing for GATE or go to higher studies. PSU like OIL,Power Grid, State Electricity Board also visit the campus for placement and mostly core students get placed into them.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is very minimal here. One can complete the B.Tech degree within 4 lakh including the mess fees and hostel fees. The rate of interest is very good here. You can expect a placement of 4 LPA average if you get circuital branch.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is one of the best among the institutes of North East. The infrastructer is at par with IITG and much better than most of the North East NITs. The campus is full of greenary and have all the facilities like a big playground, central university, community hall, basketball court, volleyball court, badminton court, cafeteria, health centre etc. Many clubs are there and you can join according to your interest like dance club, quiz club, chess etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are 6 boys hostel here and one is under construction. You won't get single room here until you are master or Ph.D students. All the bachelor student get double occupancy room which have all basic facilitues like an almirah, table, chair. Hostel are well equipped with wifi and have water purifier. The hostel are well mainatined and are cleaned on regular basis. The mess food is eatable and also depend upon hostel to hostel, sometimes you might find difficult if you are from North India and ear roti at night. The hostel fee is very minimal per semester only you have to pay mess fee monthly which is also below 2500. The campus is located in a village area far from city so there is no PG or rented room facility available nearby.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not really good in our college, it is more of a research institute so it mainly focuses on PhD as PhD strength is good. Higher education is more prefered here but placement scenario is also good

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
