Remarks

So, currently, I am pursuing computer engineering at Vishwakarma Institute of Technology and I am in my 2nd year. For admission to VIT, I appeared for the mht-cet exam as well as JEE Mains and got admission through JEE. My percentile in JEE Mains was 96.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose the computer engineering course because I see a bright future in it. Talking about the faculty: the student ratio is pretty good in our college. The faculty is really helpful. We get lots of projects which help in gaining practical knowledge.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 184349 per year

Internships Opportunities

Right from the end of the second year, students become eligible to apply for internships. We have a six-month long internship. Our college also offers a student exchange program from which we can get a chance to study for one semester at a foreign university.

Placement Experience

Placements in VIT are top-notch. All the big companies recruit from VIT. Right from the 5th semester (i.e. 3rd year), we can apply for internships and PPOs. Almost all the students of the CSE branch are placed with an average package of 12 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Being a private college, fees here in VIT are more when compared with the other SPPU(Pune University) colleges. But placements here are top-notch. All the big recruiters recruit from VIT and because of that average package stands at 10 lakhs.

Campus Life

We have a lush green campus of approx. 7 acres with 4 main buildings and 3 canteens with a Nescafe coffee shop. Our college has more than 50 different clubs, committees, and student-run organizations. Melange is our annual cultural fest.

Hostel Facilities

So, I opted for a private hostel which is near the college (As the college hostel is far away from the college). The hostel room is very good with a capacity of 3 and a private washroom. The hostel also has a private mess which is nice.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The part of the curriculum that inspired me to take up this course is definitely applied mathematics as engineering has a lot of math integrated in it and helps the student to improve his/her logic and problem solving skills which are very important in today's job market. Some areas where I'd like the syllabus to improve are NEP related subjects like PPS, Indian Knowledge System etc. These courses are not related to the major but are included because of the New Education Policy(NEP). I feel that most of these courses are a complete waste of time and can be replaced by better courses.

Reality of VIT, Pune

I had applied for COEP technological University, PCCOE Pimpri, and VJTI. I got confirmed addmissions in PCCOE for mechanical course , COEP for metallurgy and VJTI for textile industry. At the last, I took addmission in VIT mechanical. VIT, Pune has good nirf rankings and rather than opting for branches like metallurgy and textile industry I choose mechanical. And between pccoe and vit I choose Vit. Vit accepts admission through cet and jee mains. Also dor dsy students it accpets through cet exam. Cutoff changes every year has been increasing as number of participants has increased. Overall, after the allotment of the college it took 3 hours to take addmission.
