Remarks
NMIT is a VTU-affiliated college so it takes admission on the basis of the COMED -K exam which is held every year .comed -k is an MCQ-based exam which consists of 180 questions that one needs to solve in 180 minutes. The level of difficulty of the paper is too easy if You compare it to the joint Entrance examination. Questions are very basic and basic formulas and small concepts. Eligibility is that the candidate should have passed second puc or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination with English as one of the languages and obtained a minimum of 45% marks aggregate in physics and maths along with chemistry. 40% in case of sc, stand obc candidates of Karnataka. The application fee when I filled out the form was 1800. the application dates are announced in months around feb-march . The results time is too long they should improve the time.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because this is the best course if someone wants to pursue Software engineering as a career option. This field has lots of career scope In the coming years Under currently lots of companies are hiring through this stream. Faculties here are supportive to an extent but in academics only from what I have seen, they are ready to help you out with your academics and attendance too (some professors with whom you may have maintained good contact ). professors in my department don't care about some extra soft skills. The teaching methodology followed is good as it is VTU affiliated but autonomous so the curriculum is not that tough and subjects are introduced as per the industry trends. The faculties are well qualified the HODs are having PhDs some associate professors are doing their PhDs .student faculty ratio is not very good but you won't feel this thing as they manage this thing very nicely. The exams are scheduled as per the timings and the papers are not very tough, all pass easily
Placement Experience
Placement here at NMIT is decent as compared to the northern colleges charging hefty fees. The average package here is 7lpa+ and the median salary is 6lpa as mentioned on the NIRF site and claimed by the college. CSE branch enjoys the best placement here and then use and ece branch, every one is placed with 6-7 LPA and the highest placement is 40 LPA this year from ise branch .75% students are placed here and rest go for higher studies and govt exams, jobs and unemployed. companies like phoney, nutanix, adobe, Microsoft, HP, Siemens, legato, and bosch also visited with good packages. I am planning to go for a master's from an IIT and am currently prep for the gate exam.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is 226280 yearly excluding mess and hostel fees In my tenure no fee hikes I have seen. cost of the study is some what less than the other colleges like DSCE as they charge extra fees in name of career development, extra course and other sorts of things like this NMIT doesn't take. NO scholarships are provided to outside Karnataka students but if you have any scholarship from the central govt or private company you may enjoy them and the college will support you with this .on campus opportunities are decent as all people in my branch get placed with a package around 6-7 LPA and highest goes to 40 LPA by a girl.
Campus Life
The campus here in Banglore isn't big enough like the government colleges like NIT or IITs have, but still, NMIT has an ok campus area of 27 acres which is ok for a campus life like you will have all the amenities in the campus be it football playground, basket ball court, tennis court you will find every need there. The campus is well-maintained and clean. Talking about the academic infra it is improving every year with collaboration with big companies like Accenture, dell as they are opening research labs in collaboration. The labs are well equipped with modern instruments like 3-d printers and all. clubs like Hack club, sparsha, web dev club,web3.0 club, iot club, enigma, and venture tank are there.
