Remarks

My admission was through jee main. So the cutoff for this branch goes quite high like around air 1000-2000. Other than that the application process is pretty streamlined and once you score high enough in jee mains you can get this branch in the college by applying appropriately. In addition to applications through jee mains, there are other ways to apply to this college for students in other streams like commerce and humanities. The cutoffs for those applicants are a bit more relaxed.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course curriculum is pretty modern. Unlike major colleges in India like IITs, NITs, etc., students are not required to study physics, chemistry, or math courses in their freshman year. All major and upcoming tech domains have courses that the students can take as electives as and when they want. There are no attendance criteria for 97% of courses. The student-faculty ratio is course dependent for example for a core course for my branch the ratio may be as low as 20 students per teacher and the ratio for a common course may be as high as 100 students for a teacher. However, all the professors and TAs have a lot of office hours in which the students can go and clear doubts. The dates of the exams are fixed for a semester and the difficulty depends on the course. In addition to exams, most courses also have assignments and project work. The date of submission for these is variable though and may even be extended if many students face difficulties in them.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Most companies like fang, Microsoft, LinkedIn, etc., and startups come to the campus for hiring. The companies offer varied stipends, also the process of selection for different companies is different. The roles offered are also varied according to the requirements. Some companies hire for a sde role, others may require a full-stack developer, etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students become eligible for internships after their 4th semester which is after the 2nd year. After 3rd year they become eligible for placements. The highest country package was recorded to be around 50lpa, and the overseas highest was around 53lpa. The average package for B.Tech was around 22lpa. Most students get placed and the rest start startups using the college's incubation cell.

Fees and Financial Aid

Every year according to the policy, the fees may hike by 5-10%. Though this has not happened recently due to Covid. Students can avail of scholarships. Students can also opt for becoming teaching assistants for a stipend or credits. However, for becoming a teaching assistant the student must have scored at least a GPA of 8 in the said course.

Campus Life

4.5

The annual fest in our college is odyssey it is held in January. The tech fest is esya it is held during August. The college library is a 3-floor building on campus containing books on every genre possible. There are spaces for group discussions, individual work, etc. Moreover, we can issue kindle devices containing even more books. It is open 24x7. There are different types of classrooms available. There are big 400-seater halls for events, 100-seater halls, and small rooms containing 30-40 seats. Each of the classrooms is air-conditioned and has projectors and mics. They are very well maintained. We have a medium-sized playing field for playing football, and cricket. We also have a dedicated basketball court and tennis court along with spaces for playing pool, table tennis, badminton, squash a swimming pool, a gym, etc. Sports events are frequently held. There are many student-run clubs in the college for various activities like music, art, code, etc.

Here placement is average as many opt for higher studies the reason behind this is maybe because only a few companies visit. In which TCS is a mass recruiter. The average package here is 3-4 lakh per annum and the highest goes up to 6lakhs per annum. Here placement ratio is about 50%. I will also opt for higher studies after getting a degree

College management needs to work upon just the placement cell and needs to invent new methods to keep uninterested students glued and up for studies.
