Anyone who has passed 12 with PCM is eligible for the course. Candidates have to give HPCET to get admission in the colleges under HPTU. Applicants can apply for the course in the official websithe of HPTU that is www.hptu.ac.in ?1500 will be the fees for application form. Application forms for the course are released between July and August month. HPTU provides reservations for the SC, ST, OBC and other minority classes. They provide reservations for all girl candidates as well.

As I am very much interested in the machine and all, so I choose the previously mentioned course. As, the mentioned college is very reputed in this field in Himachal. As there are atmost 60 students from direct entry and 10 from Lateral entry. There are 10 to 12 well qualified and experienced professors and 3 to 5 lab assistants. All the faculty have done Masters in their respective fields. Some of them also have done PhD. Honestly speaking, some teachers are exceptional in the teaching But, some are not as much good as the others but are, we can say, average. There are sessional exams twice in each semester and then one end semester exam. Each sessional involves almost 2 units out of 4 units of the syllabus. Difficulty level increases as we further pursue the course.

In the mechanical Engendering department, companies like Hero motocorp, Reliance Jio infocomm, Anglo Eastern Ship Management Pvt Ltd, Vardhman group of companies, SEL Manufacturing Co. Ltd, Bets Soft System, Pie Infocomm pvt ltd, PAPC, etc are recruiting students. The college is way far in the field of research. During academic year 2019-20 total 4 journals were published in International journal of repute.

As there is ?3000 fee for the admission other than the counseling. Then, after that, ?28170 fee for the odd semester and ?2500 for the even semester for the boys. Girls can get 50% fee reduction. Thers are also fees reduction for the minority classes. College offers all the Scholarship that are mentioned in NSP portal. Also the Scholarship under MNREGA scheme and others which HP Government offers. Well, placement opportunities are not so much good. Mechanical Engendering department suffers the most in the placement opportunities. But, the textile engineering trade has the exceptional placement records and the highest placement percentage.

TWASK is the annual fest in the college and it is organized in winters in every year except 2020 and 2021. The college has well equipped library to offer books and journals. Also, provides computer access in the library. College also organize sports fest named Chakrvyuh. Also there occurs annual sports meet. Also, different camps such as blood donation camps, clothes donation etc are organized. Unnat Bharat, NSS and NCC units are also in the college. Many clubs are there in the college like Music club, Tech club, Dance club, Fashion club, sports club, social welfare club, etc are there.
