Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose MBBS because I wanted to be a doctor from childhood, being a doctor I want to serve humanity and poor people who can not afford lakhs of money for their treatment. The faculty-student ratio is much higher in Rg Kar than in any other college in Kolkata. There are more than 20 teachers in the anatomy department, thus the academics are excellent in this college. The teachers are all postgraduates and super specialised. They used to teach in the digital method using a projector and slide. An internal exam is taken every after 3 months. If you follow lectures every day passing exams is very easy.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The college is associated with a government hospital. The internship is done here. The stipend is 28000 per month which is the maximum compared to other colleges in India For internship, the students have to pass the final semester exam

Placement Experience

5

After the internship, the students are offered placements. Fortis, ruby, and Apollo are the hospitals which are ready for the students. The average package is 12-30 lakhs per annum. About 98% of students get their placements. My plan is to run my own clinic.

Fees and Financial Aid

As it is a government Medical College fees are deficient, 4500 rs per semester. You can easily survive in college without any tension about financial costs. I got an SVMCM scholarship from the west Bengal government to get into Mbbs.

Campus Life

5

The name of the annual fest is lobelia which is one of the best college fests all over India, it is conducted in the month of September every year, and this year Sonu Nigam came to rock Lobelia. Many off-stage and on-stage event is conducted for lobelia. There are 2 stores in the college cheap store and book store which provides medical instruments and books at low cost Classrooms have a healthy infrastructure with full ac, projector, mike etc. Many extracurricular activities including cricket, football is conducted besides studies. Culture students group is present for the conduction of cultural events.

Hostel Facilities

5

There are 2 hostels for ug students, each room has 4 tube lights, 4 fans with the well airy condition. Each room is perfect for the accommodation of 4 students. The floor is marbled. Each student is given a separate chair, table and bookshelf. Meal quality is like other Hostels and the price is also less. In the morning bread, omelette, and banana is given. And in lunch or dinner rice with egg, chicken, and fish is given alternately with a monthly price of 2500 rs During admission, a form for a hostel is given and the allotment is done.

Interview Experience

4.5

If you want to get admitted to rg kar you have to give the national eligibility cum entrance test. Which is conducted every year by NTA. The topic is physics, chemistry and biology. You have to clear neet with a minimum mark of 620. You have to study ncert for cleaning neet and practice many questions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite well maintained till 3rd year but the final year syllabus is too vast to complete within 1 year. I feel duration has to be increased a bit. The process of acquiring knowledge entirely depends on the individual pursuing this course as there is no spoonfeeding as in other courses.

If you can pass the exam that is very tough to pass if you're not serious at all, you'll be able enough to get into any nursing home or you can start treating people staring your own clinic. After 4.5 years you get the internship program that is mandatory to do for all where you get a salary of 32000 per month which is highest among all states . If you manage to be in the top 100 students of the batch of 250 you get one year job in the same hospital with a fees of 50000 and just 48 hours duty per week. If you do nursing home you can get around 70-90k per month based on how much you spent time on work .
