K.G Engineering Institute - admission process

For admissions, students have to appear in JEXPO Or WBJEE. 10th passed students are eligible for admission and admission forms, fees, dates etc are published on the official website of the West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development. If any student gets a seat after clearing the exam (mentioned above), he/she will receive a proper email with an allotment letter. Students have to send their Madhyamik result and Admit card along with filling out the form given with the allotment letter. Later he/she will be called to college for verification. After the verification, he /she will be listed on the admission list. Few seats are reserved for OBC, STC, SC etc. I think the admission process is good and during the verification process, the respected teachers and staff (involved in the verification process) are very helpful and supportive to the students. Although the online pre-verification for the allotment letter is a little complex.

I choose this course because I have an interest in computer science and K.G engineering Institute have good teachers and provides internship every year. The total seat in computer science is 30, and currently, there are 1-2 faculty seats. To get a seat in the faculty, students have to get a good percentage in their previous semester. Usually, students can change their course after 1st and 2nd semester. The teaching method is good, students are provided with enough computer labs, the internet and teachers for both theoretical and practical. Students are given assignments and projects for helping their skills and coordinate with other students. There are 2 internal exams for each semester. The internal exams usually happen from February to March and August to September. The internal exams are mid-tough and for passing the exams with good marks students have to be regular in class, active in practical labs and study regularly according to the teachers' method.

Usually, internships are given after the 4th Or 5th semester. Private Companies like Tata, UNICEF etc. I haven't gotten any internships in the second semester. But according to our seniors, the outcomes of the project are 75 to 80% successful but students usually choose higher study instead due to low internships.

Students become eligible for campus placements from 3rd semester. Aventage packages are usually 15000 to 25000. More than 60-70% of students get placements. After the degree, I want to get higher study this course.

This is a government college, so the fees are very low compared to private colleges. And students have to pay their fees yearly. Other than the fees, the college provides a good library with enough books for each course for each semester from different writers, so students can easily continue their studies from library books. During college, students can apply for the SVMCM Scholarship (Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Scholarship)from its website. For 1st Semester Students are required 75% marks in their previous madhyamik exam and for the other semesters, Students are required 60% in their previous semester. For financial assistance, library (as I mentioned above), lab assistance, scholarships etc are provided to students. During 3rd Year Or 6th-semester, students can get campus jobs.

During recent months, the fressers invitation event, farewell event, teachers' day event and annual celebration of 100 years have happened. All the books on each subject of each course from various writers are available in the library. The classrooms are cleaned and provided with enough benches, lights, and fans. The rooms are designed perfectly for air conditioning, and life reflecting from the outside. Each student gets their individual seat and a huge blackboard is provided in each class. During special events like annual festivals sports like football and cricket tournaments are organised. And students are also encouraged to participate in the celebration events to show their talent in singing, dancing etc. Recently Alumni Organization was created in the college by the Ex-students of the college. This organization is created for helping the college and students financially by improving college buildings, lab rooms, water and other facilities like hostels etc.
