Review of St Thomas

Joined St Thomas after completing my diploma in computer science, the eligibility was mainly decided on the basis of rank in wbjee/jelet. Application details can be found on the official website of the college. Tfw is available and it would be great if the admission process is done smoothly.

I chose Information technology since there is a lot of scope in the IT sector and coding is an integral part of the process. There is a good amount of faculty present for each department and are skilled and helpful. Teaching methods are pretty good and if notes are taken properly, it's not that difficult to pass exams.

Companies like ITC, Mindtree, Infosys, P360, Cognizant, Nomura etc offer paid internships and it depends on the pay package. Roles are given according to company exam results. Not much idea about the projects.

Students become eligible for the campus from the beginning of the 4th year of college. Companies like Mindtree, Infosys, cognizant and Nomura etc. usually visit the college every year. The average package is 4lpa and the highest is 10lpa. 60% throughout is required to sit for campus exams or else opt for off-campus drives.

The fee structure of St Thomas is around 45k per semester with an additional fine if not paid in due time. Campus jobs usually start with the basic package of 4lpa and above will depend according to individual skill sets.

Usually, no fests are organised but online webinars and workshops happen from time to time. A variety of books are available in the library. Classrooms are provided with projectors and labs are well equipped with machines for each student. Sports usually happen once a year in form of tournaments including football, cricket, badminton and table tennis.
