Remarks

I gave neet UG 2018 as my 1st exam for mbbs and i had a decent rank, so I got ggsmch Faridkot. Application form and dates were posted by MCI then, but nowadays by NMC or NTA. I am a general category student, so i didn't avail any reservation benefits, i am here solely due to myself. The admission process is really great, it helps everyone. Even if you dont know form filling, you can Go to any cafe and they will help you out. Improvements like equal entry fees or form fees for all categories like general or obc or sc or st must be there.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose this course because this was my passion form time immemorial. I always wanted to be a doctor and save patients lives. Also it's the most noble profession and has a lot of money so I chose this. Faculty student ratio is variable according to the subject, for eg in biochemistry subject in our college.....faculty is extremely low But in the anatomy or physiology or pharmacology department, nice and alot of faculty is present. Faculty almost everyone is MBBS, MD doctor..some even are super specialists like DM. Teachers method are fine, some use white boards some use the ppts. Term exams are Every 6 months and they are not a cup of tea. You must study well to get passed. In both theory and practical exams you must be knowledgeable to get fine numbers.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

The internship is given at the same college only ie we have to do one year internship here only. They provide you ? 15000/ month. The roles are offered by different departments, and it's one heck of a year because they take immense amount of your mental peace and physical presence. The projects are many, you can get conferences to attend and rural areas to go. Metting can be attended by an intern including the pg and senior teachers of that department. To Clarify the tasks sometimes it's intra College and if inter college, it's even the vc of University of registrar who helps you out at times.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees hike is a very bad thing that happened to our course 2 years after i got admission. My fees start was 80000/ year. But 2 year juniors of mine had a starting fees of 158000/ year Infact these fees get increased by 10% every year which makes it very miserable. As compared to other colleges in Punjab fees is less but as compared to other colleges in other states, it's very high. No scholarship for general category students There is so sort of scholarship for obc, sc and st categories. EWS also has some say in this. The stipend is fixed for interns ie 15000/month. Job assistance is nice....some get MO and some get PG seats.

Campus Life

2

There is absolutely no annual fest, before our batch there used to be a fest called throb, but after us there isn't any. Library has a lot of books but the problem is that they aren't updated with the lastest editions. There are many new journals though...and good space to study. Fine amenities in class rooms, there are 4 of them and are not the best, but can be said as fine for us. Sports and extra curricular activities are not much of interest because you don't have so much time, there is so sort of sports meet annually and it's nice for athletes. A group called FAMS has been organised in this year only ie 2022. It is just started and looks very promising regarding extra curricular activities of students. it is run by both students and teachers.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

In the rooms you can get your ac. There is one tube and one fan for every one. Payment of ac is extra, you can get a cooler for the same price though. Mess food is pretty ordinary like the dinner is worst of all, morning and Lunch are still fine. Menu is pretty monotonous too. Hostels are quite affordable though and the registration process is very simple, you can get yourself registered by paying at the college cashier. For PG, the colonies like guru nanak Singh colony is the best, because it has a lot of PGs and it's closer to the college as compared to hostel too.
