Remarks

Admission was based on merit in class 12th. As GGDSD College is one of the top colleges for commerce so cut off's for outside Chandigarh candidates were as high as 95 % in class 12th. The admission process was smooth.

Course Curriculum Overview

I selected B.com(H) as my interest lies in the commerce and management field. The faculty of the college is good. Faculty members are well qualified. Most of the faculties are Ph.D. holders. Course curriculum is relevant to the industry requirements. The teaching methodology can be improved. Exams takes place twice in a semester- Mid Term Exams and Final Semester end exam. Exams are of moderate level.

Class Size: 350Course Fees: INR 30000 per year

Placement Experience

Placements in college are average. Companies like- Deloitte, DE Shaw, L &T, Ey, etc. visit the campus for recruitment. The highest package was around 15 LPA(DE Shaw). The average package was around 4 LPA. Around 50 % of the students get placed. The rest of the students opt for higher studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are very nominal. It will cost around Rs. 1,00,000 for a 3-year B.com course. Fees per semester are around Rs. 30,000. A loan facility is also available to fund education. Paid internship opportunities are very rare.

Campus Life

Campus life is amazing. There are many student-driven clubs and societies like- Finance club, Enactus, TEDx, etc. Panache is the annual fest that happens around January. The library is well maintained with n no. of books. There is a reading room also where students can study. Classrooms are well ventilated along with all the modern facilities. There are many sports activities on campus like- cricket, football, etc.

Learning and Growth at PGGC-11

Placement Experience:

The students can sit for placements in their final year of course. The tricity based companies come for campus placements for jobs that need strong communication skills and basic knowledge of their domain. The maximum package that was offered goes up to 5 LPA, and the average packages are lower than this arounf 3 LPA. I wanted to go for Post Graduation so did not opt for campus placement.

First SEM Experience

Placement Experience:

Around 80-90% of the students get placed in my course. The average package is 3LPA - 5LPA. This college has a decent placement record. The highest package offered is 7.6LPA. Companies like Google , Deloitte , Amazon , Infosys , Wipro , etc. come to the campus to pick excellent students for their company. The college also has a dedicated placement cell which helps the students to prepare for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is not hard ofcourse but it's pretty old fashioned and non modernistic . No technology inculcation in the curriculum. Difficulty level is not much . There should be modernisation of the curriculum. More technology inclusion . More tech based learning . More practical education.

THE LIFE AT DAV COLLEGE

Placement Experience:

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

in terms of relevance. I must say that college has planned it all very significantly and the college exams is also very moderate easy to moderate kind of exam. MST is conducted one month before the final examination.

Application for this college is easy process. You just need to fill a form from dhe.chd.gov.in for which you have to pay very nominal fee ( i paid 70rs in 2023). Teaching methods are okay.likr there's so such thing that college is in Chandigarh so better teachers or something.

Life At GGDSD

I have chosen GGDSD because in my locality no other college offered this course ghat too a full fledged one. I did not apply to any other colleges and got my admission here in the very first go and was quite happy with way the admission process happened It was smooth and even the faculty members helped through it. One of the best college in Chandigarh

The eligibility for admission depends on various factors and varies from course to course. The candidate must fill the DHE chandigarh form costing 70 Rs before doing anything, as you will not be eligible to fill the admission form if not filled the mentioned(DHE) form. HONEST REVIEW BY OF GGDSD COLLEGE, CHANDIGARH BY A STUDENT

Eligibiltity of my course was just on my 12th class's board percentage. You can find the application form, application fees and application dates on the official website of GGDSD COLLEGE, CHANDIGARH There are reservered seats for specific castes although i am from general category so i did not get any type of reservation. The exams are held every 5 to 6 months after the semester end. And they are held from 9:30am to 12:30pm and 2 pm to 5pm.
